Mass Effect: Andromeda’s player character wasn’t in the teaser trailer

Andromeda

EA had a pretty disastrous E3 press conference. It felt even more lame because they started with such a high point, an all new teaser trailer for the new Mass Effect which now has a name. No longer Mass Effect 4, Mass Effect: Andromeda is looking absolutely gorgeous. But don’t jump to interstellar conclusions based on the teaser just yet.

While they couldn’t say much, over on the Bioware Blog there’s a bit of an explanation about what we can expect from Mass Effect: Andromeda.

While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy.

You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.

Hm, so I can’t embrace my dream of playing as a Krogan, but at least there’s a whole new galaxy and we know this is taking place in the green/red/blue future. So that character in the teaser isn’t us – so who is it? Is it the man? I knew it was the man.

I’m far too excited for this game, and the fact that it’s only coming for the holidays next year makes it feel like forever away. Still, there are so many good games to play in the meantime, I’ll just need to distract myself with those. Just knowing that the trailer was built in the game engine, Frostbite, gives me hope that what we see might actually be what we get. C’mon Bioware, don’t let me down!

Oh, and just because I love to watch it, here’s that trailer again.

I think I must have missed the bit about the MAKO being back. Oh yeah!

I personally liked the MAKO missions… Gave me a feeling of Mass-ivnes and added Effect to everything I did (see what I did there :D). Sure the MAKO was shitty to control and the rocket boosters were as useful as a air freshner at a pig farm… But still all the planets you could land on, and all the things you could find… Ah the good memories 😀 maybe I’ll go play ME-ME3 again. Which would take me for ever because I’m a perfectionist since I needed to get the perfect ending where everyone lives and Shepard breaths in the last 2 seconds of the end scene 😀

Yup, watched the trailer. Saw the mako ( i think that was the name of the car?) but.. just cause its in the trailer dosnt mean it’ll be a playable vehicle in the game. They may just be a cutscene for a part of the sotryline. And yes.. i play ME 1 and 2 (not 3 yet..) But, its been so long back that i dont recall which one it was in… 1 or 2 ? i just remember that driving that car thru the mountain side was one of my favorite parts aout the game.

<-????????? After being fired from my old job 6 months ago, i've had luck to learn about this great company online that was a lifesaver for me… They offer online home-based work. My last month payment after working with them for 4 months was 10000 bucks… Great thing about it was that only requirement for the job is basic typing and reliable internet…If you think this could be for you then find out more here

I loved all three Mass Effect games, but Mass Effect 3 was terribly polluted by DLC, pre-order crap, and producer meddling. EA are ruining Bioware. I’m going to have to say “That looks very nice, but no thanks,” and hold out for the great Star Citizen. And possibly replay the Mass Effect trilogy with a tear in my eye…

While i agree on everything you said, I still think you should wait to see what Andromeda has to offer. Its really too early to decide whether to drop the game or not. Come on! You a ME fan! dont drop it so quickly! As for the dlc and preorder stuff…. I get what you saying… I actually just didnt bother with any of it even if i wanted to. I had no cash for it, but it didnt deter me from the overall game which is a good thing.

making javik a preorder exclusive was BS, i preordered it because the hype was real, but it was a dick move by them.
rest of the DLC, other than the Citadel DLC, was forgettable. leviathan was too short and omega was too boring.

how they turned omega into boring DLC is beyond me, comic book hype, Aria t’loak story and the first female turian, and i cant remember the plot, astonishing.

trailer tells us pretty much nothing other than we’re human and that the game has a name.

its good to see that N7 logo back.

after all the success they had with ME3 multiplayer, i would have thought theyd have taken the hint and given us more races to choose from and gone with a Dragon Age Origins type setup, but I forgot this is EA we’re talking about, taking the easy route.

exploring a new galaxy is cool, curious about the ship we’ll be using. with customisation being all the rage atm, we can probably expect to NOT be able to customise our ship.

        agreed.
can you imagine the internets reaction, if you could pick your race and have each race start in different sectors of the galaxy.
i mean, why go through all that effort in ME3 multiplayer, of fleshing out all those races and classes, if you’re just going to scrap it?

We can expect some nice lube-ready dlc, if we want some cool new weapons, or a different color for our ship..etc etc..
I’m sick of this. I would prefer if the whole game industry just raised the price, to 70-90 bucks, but..
GIVE ME THE FULL GAME AND ITS FULL CONTENT AND ALL EXTENSIONS …

DLC is here to stay. so long as they give us decent DLC, il be fine.
if they go back to DLC of the same quality as LotSB, overlord etc, they can take my money.
if they give us gun DLC and crappy unplanned and irrelevant DLC, then i’ll complain for days.
