Remember Bulletstorm? People Can Fly and Epic’s somewhat puerile shooter was crass and crude, but it was also a heck of a lot of fun. It may have often been vile on its surface, but it was a terribly underrated game, with cool combo-chaining mechanics and smarter design than its presentation would suggest.
It looks like it may be getting Remastered. It’s been suggested by Polygon video guy Nick Robinson that there’s a remaster on the way. In a flash drive from Xbox, he found a folder called Bulletstorm Remastered, which includes some tasty high-resolution screens of the game.
Uh, so… I just found a folder on an Xbox USB called “Bulletstorm Remaster.” No mention of this anywhere online. Huh! pic.twitter.com/gmcHbb8t6C

Here’s what we said in our review:
“I sincerely mean it when I say that you are fooling yourself if you think that Bulletstorm is just a dumb shooter with no real merits. What this game is, is a combination of great comedic writing, immaculate pacing, technical excellence, fresh gameplay and a whole bunch of very good design choices all shoved into one package, with each element playing its part without missing a beat.
Bulletstorm isn’t perfect and it’s not going to change your life forever but what it will do, is take anywhere between 7 – 15 hours of your life, and fill them with raw, unadulterated fun and if that’s not what gaming is about, then I don’t know what is.”
Hopefully, the remaster is there to remind people that the game exists, and pave the way for a follow-up – because there’s not been anything quite like it.
Take a look at the screens:

Bulletstorm was fun. But it was one of those games, that after you finished it, you put it back in the cupboard and forgot about it.
A remaster, in my opinion? Nah. Leave it on previous gen.

Loved this game, this is basically the only type of FPS games i enjoy, thanks to War FPS gaming fatigue. That sniper with its curved bullets and BOOM!!! Happy Days.
