Sony’s newest console is certainly off to a great start. It was just last month we told you that the company had sold over a million of the things through to consumers, meaning a million people were busy not playing Knack. that was just a day after the North American launch. It’s now out in Europe and much of the rest of the world – sop naturally, that umber is quite a bit higher.
Sony says it’s sold through 2.1 million of the things.
“Now, with PS4?s global launch expanding to a total of 32 countries worldwide, including Europe and Latin America, I’m proud to announce that more than 2.1 million PS4s have been sold,” said Sony’s Andrew House on the PS Blog.
“It’s an impressive and record-setting accomplishment for our company and for our industry, and we couldn’t have done it without you. I want to personally thank PlayStation fans, both old and new, for your vote of confidence. The best part: the PS4 journey has just begun. In addition to an incredible line-up of PS4 games from the best developers in the world, we will continue to introduce valuable new features and services to PS4 in the months and years ahead.”
The PS4 is set to be released here in South Africa next week Friday, where it will bring the total to at least 2.1002 million units sold.
Interestingly, in less than a month, the PS4 is now at over half the Wi U’s lifetime global sales, which sit at just under 4 million right now. Unfortunately, not even the mighty Mario has had much effect on Wii U system sales.Mario has had much effect on Wii U sales.

have a look at this one. I mean considering the DS3 controller alone cost around R600 this is a deal. http://www.kalahari.com/Games/PS3-500GB-Console-1-x-Dual-Shock-3-Controller_p_47680719

It’s a bit early to say it’s better than the PS2 but I think it will easily beat the PS3

Saw a couple of people down by BT Games asking about the PS4. I’m saying this one last time. Preorder. Don’t stand in the queue like a Moscow bread line.

To me, it’s a matter of cost. I really can’t afford it right now, but that’s okay. I still have enough to entertain men with on PS3. And Dark Souls, which has been torturing me since the beginning of the year.

If you think about it, the Playstation brand is kind of like a person.
The Playstation 1 years are clearly the formative years. It was young, yet brilliant and it excelled at everything. The Playstation 2 years were the teenage years. It was an excellent student, and still very much a child prodigy. In other words, a true force to be reckoned with – as it cut its way through the competition. Some may say it was a scholar and an athlete (a rare combination…). It’s future couldn’t look brighter….
Therefore, the Playstation 3 years were the varsity years. Clearly, it started to believe the hype. It became arrogant and didn’t take first-year varsity seriously. It took it easy, cut some classes, smoked some weed, even found itself in a porno or two, and while it held so much promise, it left far too many things to chance. Failure seemed inevitable, however, it re-focused itself, and clawed back to finish varsity..
But the Playstation 4 is clearly its post-varsity young adult phase. It knows who it is, it’s confident and ready to become a young professional and a master of the game. At the moment, it’s that bad-ass standing tall, with the world at his feet.
G’damn Batman… Playstation 4!!!!!

Xbone is sadly a shady homeless person, who tries to sell you a sob story about loosing his legs in the “Great War”. Instead, he’s eyeing your wallet and planning a fantastic night of sniffing glue and smoking tik… obviously at your expense….
