Wolverine (2)

When it comes to mutations, the Wolverine may have hit the jackpot. Sure, being able to blow a mountain up with concussive force beams from your eyes that you can barely control and that makes you a hazard to everyone you hold dear (Oh for f***s sake Scott, shut up already) may sound rad, but Logan has a more practical ability. Able to survive injuries normally reserved for Jackass 4: The Movie, the berserker has a healing factor that also keeps him in peak physical condition and slows his aging process down massively.

Plus, he happens to have skeleton bonded with an unbreakable metal and a set of pig-stickers in each hand. Handy. That being said, there aren’t many characters that can match him in a one on one fight. A combination of unlimited healing and built-in ginsu knives makes Logan deadly, as do his enhanced senses.

Which is why it looks like Logan will have to deal with strength in numbers for Wolverine 3. The film has begun shooting in New Orleans, with Nerdist News saying that old man Logan will be facing off against a squad of cyborg mercenaries. No wait, this is actually awesome don’t go away. In the comics, they’re known as the Reavers, augmented humans who totally asked for upgrades that make them living nightmare fuel from an Iron Maiden video.

Reavers

Usually led by fellow cyborg and Hellfire Club member Donald Pierce, the Reavers are properly deadly and have a bone to pick with Logan. Lady Deathstrike is also usually included in their ranks, a character who popped up in X-Men 2 and ended that film with an adamantium enema. Although, timeline hijinks and all that could write her back into movie continuity. In a way, this makes sense. Boyd Holbrook has been confirmed as the main villain of Wolverine 3, who has been described as “the chief of security for a global corporation pursuing” Wolverine.

Then there’s also Richard E. Grant, who reports say is playing a mad scientist-type character, a prime candidate for the role of Pierce. Holbrook’s global organisation could easily double as the Hellfire Club in this scenario. Take it with a pinch of salt then, but its starting to sound quite likely. Wolverine 3 reunites Hugh Jackman with director James Mangold, his final film in the series which has been described as “a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies,” according to producer Simon Kinberg.

It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.

Current release date for this flick is March 3 2017. Bub. And if you still don’t know who the Wolverine is, let my buddy and regular chuckle-monkey Jay show you how it’s done:
