| Here’s Dragon’s Dogma’s Launch Trailer | Geoffrey Tim - May 14th, 2012 | I’ve said a lot about Dragon’s Dogma over the last few weeks. I’ve played a good portion of it, and I’m excited for its release. It’s Capcom’s first foray in to open-world high fantasy, and it’s filled, as you’d expect with all manner of beats - like Dragons (obviously), giant cockatrices, ouroboroses, Cyclopses and countless more. Because of its open-world nature its drawing a ... [»] |

| Has Capcom managed to increase Kinect’s accuracy? | Geoffrey Tim - May 14th, 2012 | Capcom will soon be releasing a sequel to Steel Battalion - an Xbox game known for its famously large, ridiculously expensive controller. It allowed the player to pilot a huge mech - using all manner of buttons, levers and knobs. The new game will use a standard controller, supplemented by Kinect, Microsoft’s motion-sensing doohickey. those who’ve used Kinect would know that it’s not ... [»] |

| Moosa’s Musings: What’s the point of game reviews? | Tauriq Moosa - May 14th, 2012 | Gavin recently noted that games that receive almost universal dislike from professional reviewers still sometimes sell better than ones highly praised. For example, Sniper Elite V2 sold better at one point than Mass Effect 3. Ignoring for the moment that sales don’t indicate quality – Twilight, anyone? – it is still interesting to wonder about game reviews’ purpose, in general. After all, if reviews that universally hated a game do nothing to reduce a game’s sales, then what ... [»] |

| How bad is this Ghost Recon Advert? | Gavin Mannion - May 14th, 2012 | I’m seriously excited for Ghost Recon Future Soldier, my time with the game at rAge last year was an incredible experience and I really do think this game is going to be one of the best games of the year.
Which is why this advert is such a massive disappointment, it’s not clever or interesting or even sexy. It’s just trashy ... [»] |

| Fable Heroes Review – Molyneux’s Middling Marionettes | Darryn Bonthuys - May 11th, 2012 | Fable spins off into a brand new offshoot with the release of Fable Heroes, a game that attempts to take the familiar characters and settings of the popular Lionhead trilogy, into an all new direction, swopping flesh and blood for felt and buttons.

| Dishonored’s coming in October | Geoffrey Tim - May 11th, 2012 | Last month, the debut trailer for Dishonored, the neo-victorian stealthy, stabby and magical first-person action adventure captured a lot of people’s imaginations. From the studio behind Arx Fatalis - and with people who’ve worked on games Half-Life 2, BioShock and Deus Ex - Dishonored oozes atmopshere. You’ll play as a supernatural assassin who’s trying to clear his name of murder charges (so you’ll...uhh…be killing people to not take the rap for killing ... [»] |

| Ass-kicking kung-fu action with Sleeping Dogs combat trailer | Geoffrey Tim - May 11th, 2012 | Last month, I had a little hands-on time with Sleeping Dogs, the new Hong-Kong based open-world sandbox crime and probably a few other adjectives action game from Square Enix and United Front Games. In it, I detailed how the hand-to-hand, melee combat was fluid and fantastic - and far removed from the simple hand-to-hand combat you’d find in similar games. It’s also pretty damned brutal - allowing you to ... [»] |

| Ubisoft’s assembling for an Avengers game | Geoffrey Tim - May 11th, 2012 | Yesterday, Darryn put up a video detailing what he thought would make for the perfect Avengers game. As if the universe was listening, an official Avengers game has been announced. Made by Ubisoft and titled “Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth,” the game will be coming sometimes around September.
It’s probably not what Darryn was hoping for.
Why not?In development at Ubisoft Quebec, the game is "inspired by iconic Marvel comic artwork and the Secret Invasion storyline." Ok, that sounds cool. Having actually enjoyed The Avengers (I’m not ... [»] |

And the latest rumour is not making me feel any love towards Microsoft, apparently the big Microsoft reveal at E3 ... [»] |

Well apparently that mark has been reached as the world premier of the Assassin’s 3 gameplay footage is out and I have ... [»] |

| Dragon’s Dogma’s first event has the world slaying a mighty…dragon | Geoffrey Tim - May 10th, 2012 | Yesterday, Capcom opened the lid on Dragon’s Dogma’s Event Mode - which will allow players and their AI pawns all over the world to tackle a single, great beast in an odd sort of collective, asynchronous multiplayer. The first of which, available on the day of the game’s impending launch will see players all over the world come together to chip away at ... [»] |
