It’s a big world out there, and with technology bringing us closer than ever, it’s also a more connected world. Gamers are one group of such people, being able to experience their favourite titles at a moments notice thanks to services such as Xbox Live and the Playstation Network (Or SEN as it will now be known).

Picture the scene. You’ve just cleared a room of nameless soldiers who were henching on the side to feed their families, and as you walk into the next room, the big bad appears. Ok, that’s fine, lets put our skills to the test in a match of such high machismo levels, we’ll have to wear black belts on our instant beards that have ... [»]
Sure, we may all be playing Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 right now, but those conflict scenarios are quite contemporary in their approach to global war.
After having dropped off the radar for quite a while now due to numerous delays and some retooling, you’d be forgiven for not having paid much attention to the latest ... [»]
We’ve done a little coverage of the upcoming weird fighting game Skullgirls and now the developer has released a video explaining the story behind the fighting.

The Darkness 2 is not a happy game, it’s not for the feint hearted and if the idea of mutilating enemies who aren’t actually the bad guys offends you then you possibly don’t want to see this.
However if you can tell the difference between videogame violence and the real thing then ... [»]

Ask anyone what their number one game of the year was, and they’ll most likely say Skyrim. It’s been a phenomenal success for Bethesda, selling over 10 million copies of the game. That’s a lot of dragon-slaying.

Motion controlled gaming is the way of the future? Screw that! The future’s all about ocular sensing! EyeAsteroids (why not just…Eyesteroids?) from Tobii Technology uses the company’s supposedly magical eye-tracking wizardry to tell where you’re looking on screen - allowing you to blow stuff up with your eyes.It works by bouncing bits of infra-red light off of your corneas, and using software tracks the changes in your eye position to know where you’re looking."In other words, the eye tracker ... With all the Skyrim bashing going on at the moment it’s the perfect time for a new hero based RPG styled game to come out and steal the thunder.

Bioware’s gone and released the full voice cast for Mass Effect 3, their up-coming, highly anticipated shooty RPG and it’s a pretty amazing cast, filled with Hollywood talent - though admittedly a tad familiar. There’s a lot of role reprisal, but that’s not a bad thing - especially with Yvonne Strahovski bringing Miranda to life again. Also, more David Keith is always a good thing. Here’s the cast :Mark Meer - Male Shepherd
Jennifer Hale - Female ... [»]
Childhood obesity is increasingly becoming a global problem. Whether it’s through the proliferation of fast food joints, high fructose corn syrup, fast-paced lives that have lead to lazy parenting (and school lunchboxes filled with sugary crap) or, - what the heck - even videogames, There’s no denying that children all over the world are getting fatter. Hell, there’s a particularly tubby one in one of my kids’ class who looks like he’s eaten the Michelin ... [»]
Dragon’s Dogma is an upcoming open-world, class-based fantasy action-adventure from Capcom - and though it’s not on many gamers’ radars at the moment, it really should be. Coming in May , it’s the brainchild of Hideaki Itsuno, the guy who’s been behind Devil May Cry since the second one, and also brought you Capcom vs SNK ... [»]
The Syndicate demo was released on Xbox Live last night but unfortunately I haven’t had time to give it a run through yet, however thankfully our nice friends at EA have put together a video jam packed with marketing BS to walk us through the co-op features of the upcoming Syndicate ... [»]
The third title in the race for galactic survival is just around the corner, and while Mass Effect fans are looking forward to finishing the fight with the Reapers (And I’ll be looking forward to seeing Tali again), another key hook for the game has to be the inclusion of multiplayer.
While the idea of omni-tooling a friend in the back sounds quite satisfying actually, working together and engaging hordes of ... [»]
