Somebody managed to open up EA’s servers and siphon this information out of them, so it can quite nearly be considered the real deal. Here’s your first look at the new thing’s that’ll be coming to The Sims 4.

You can moan about The Sims all you like, but truth is it’s one of the biggest gaming franchises on the planet, and one of, if not the biggest selling PC game in South Africa. It makes EA a ton of money; money that’s used to find the games you moaners actually want to play. But there’s a very, very good reason The Sims is so popular; it;s actually a pretty incredible game, and the purest RPG you’ll ever play.

I’m not afraid to admit that I harboured a pretty serious Sims addiction for quite some time after the original game was released. Anyway, here’s the information that was nabbed, courtesy of AGB.

Never took to Sims 3 after Sims 2. My sister loves it, so she receives a content pack or expansion every once in a while from her best brother (me, not the other one). She will be delighted over this news.

Yeah, that is a bit insane… Pay R300 for a game, and then R150-R250 for every expansion there after, and there’s 12 of them over the space of 6 months and you just HAVE to have them, so you buy them and then you’re bankrupt and all your stuff gets repossessed by the bank including your game and then you’re REALLY screwed…

      too much?

I remember when I got the very first Sims, I think you needed DirectX 7. I was so excited to jam the game, but only had DX6 on my pc. It was a pirate copy so I also didn’t get it with the game and had no internet (WHAT?!). I was devistated.

Oh look, it’s exactly like Sims 3 but with worse graphics. Which is what Sims 3 was compared to Sims 2. And the identical expansion packs will be released. I was a devoted Sims fan for over 10 years but my stupidity has been exploited to its limits. For the first time in my Sims fangirllsm life I did not buy the last 4 (or is 5? 25?) expansion packs. Over it. I’ve run out of stupid. And patience.

Whoa, I would definitely call this a huge step up from Sims 3. Much more realistic if you watch the video release of Sims 4 Create a Sim at Gamescom. And that was just in CAS. Much more personalized. Much more sophisticated. New Sims releases are always going to be new reactions, new CAS developments, actions, traits, etc. And the expansions are going to remain fairly the same because the expansions they provide are staples in fantasy life creations. They’ve been adding new expansions via the Sims 3 that neither sims 2 or sims had- like the Sims 3 Into the Future expansion that is being released later this year and the 60’s 70’s 80’s Pack (or whatever it was). Bottom Line, Sims 4 is giving a lot of us less of a reason to download tons of mod packages. I am very excited and satisfied!

The last time I played The Sims I tested the limits of what could be defined as a house – I gave the guy a single piece of wall, a bed, a toilet and a fridge. He survived for ages and was surprisingly happy (probably because he had loads of money).
