Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Crafting a PS4 world, meeting your bane and creating the Crusader

If there was one game that convinced me to get a Playstation 4, it had to be Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. Jamming the game with fellow writers and getting my couch co-op on was just too much fun. And yes, I did click around on PC as well. Blizzard’s Andrew Chambers, John Hight and Matthew Berger had plenty to say about the game. So stay awhile and listen.

There happen to be quite a few ideas for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls in the pipeline, but the one that I’m digging the most are the Bane monsters. Creatures so fearsome that if they murder you, they’ll steal your name and crash the game of your pal, bearing your monikor and more hate than usual.

So for once, Geoff’s Bane won’t just be a description of his airline flights. Reaper of Souls is out next year, and has a new character class known as the Crusader to go with the brand new act in the game.

  1. but this is D3 is on Xbox 360 and ps3 already… Why would this make you want to get a ps?. Surely D3 reaper of souls can make its way to last gen consoles aswell..

Like Blizzard would allow that, at best, you’d be able to port your base Diablo 3 character from your PS3 to the PS4.

Actually, I was on the fence with the PS4 vs XB1 and this game pushed me to PS4. I’ll have to fresh start characters is the only bad thing… well that and the PS4 kind of sucks imo, but it’s too late now…

Wait, is there only going to be one new character class? I thought that they’d only revealed one, and were still going to reveal another. 🙁

I’ll stick with Path of Exile for now. 😛

Bru it’s a 95%er. Almost perfect man, with long replay value and excellent controls, graphics, story and the lag not so bad. 🙂

Already anticipating the 10/10 score here because Blizzard cannot do anything wrong.

“Blizzard cannot do anything wrong”, “excellent story” and “almost perfect” – you’re referring to Diablo 3.

Dude. I’m not being a troll, have you played any other action-RTS games? Diablo 3’s story is weak, for a start. It kills a story-centric character within the first act and makes very little fuss or even any emotional attempt at grief.

The console version is well-refined and a lot of fun, but it’s far from “almost perfect”. 😉

Oh I was being a troll. 🙂 My 95% refers to the score D3 received here for both PC and console. While all of what I mention was well below par, no reply value and the lag which made the game unplayable on PC. But I have heard that Lazygamer does indeed penalise games that suffer because of poor internet connectivity and always online features. Which is why D3 probably did not score a perfect 10/10.

So a 10/10 is a conservative figure for what would be a better expansion, because apparently it will have an end game etc.

Okay so here is the thing. My internet connectivity is a wireless dongle. While my area has great signal, its still not a landline.
Now obviously I am not going to play a FPS online since my connection isnt great.
BUT Diablo has always been a singleplayer offline game. Yes, I understand that Blizzard have added some great features (and not so great features), but that still does not change the fact that I need to play via a server to play singleplayer. Pathetic.
I actually thought the storyline was good. The expansion looks like its going to be even better, was always wondering what happend to the 5th angel. Also, the graphics and gameplay were great.
But……the always online ruined it for me. After one playthrough I was bored and frustrated.

Feeeling ya. I have a pretty solid 2mbit line. But even on that its very unresponsive with rubber banding and terrible spikes server side.

And thats why I am angry. Diablo was NEVER supposed to be about how strong your landline is…..At least the consle gamers are having a better time 🙁

After playing Skyrim, X-com, GTA 5 etc, Diablo feels like a Gattaca type arcade game. With graphics. It seriously falls short. I will not wast money on this.
