Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has room for a sequel

Another year, another Call of Duty. This time, Sledgehammer games gets to show off their hard work, with a game set in the future of 2054. It’s Advanced Warfare and a brand new franchise within Call of Duty to boot. Which means that we can expect a sequel to this adventure, once the dust has settled.

Speaking to GameInformer, Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey said, “I think Call of Duty resonates because it’s believable and relatable. And it’s always been one of the strengths of the franchise.”

Some of the the things we found through research of what’s going on in the military today and around the world was more fantastic than even the things we were coming up with. And so I think that time period and that ability to keep it rooted means that our fans, ourselves – you know, it’s not that fictional leap to a science fiction world you can’t relate to.

“Science fiction icons, we stayed away from,” co-founder Glen Schofield said. “So you won’t see the traditional mech. Even though that may happen, people automatically go, ‘Sci-fi.’ So, we’re kind of trying to stay away from that.”

While Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare isn’t the first COD game to offer more experimental technology, don’t expect to see that gear overlap with what was used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. “We do talk with Mark Lamia [Treyarch studio head] and his designers and artists as much as possible, and that’s so that we don’t duplicate things,” Schofield said

But I think we realized after the first six months or so when we had this huge amount of information and we had sort of a vision, that if we just kind of followed that and we used Sledgehammer’s style, that we will be different.

It’s almost like two artists create a landscape and one’s going to be so much different than the other and I think that there’s enough differences between the two that – I know there’s enough difference between the two that they both can exist.

But this is a new direction for Call of Duty. With three studios each working on a game, Advanced Warfare will naturally be followed by a sequel in 2017. Something that Schofield says the game was designed for, having been created to set up a larger world.

“There has to be some thinking of not ruining the story and everything or the world so you can’t have another game,” Schofield said. “We’re keeping it in a place where another game can exist.”

The latest Call of Duty is out in November. I’m hoping that Sledgehammer makes a Kruger skin available for the multiplayer.

Its a Call Of Duty Title.. there will always be a sequel, probably gonna be a prequel soon aswell.. Call of Duty Sticks and Stones.. set in prehistoric times, Neanderthals running around caves clubbing each other, Where one Killstreak will be your opponent getting munch by some Sabertooth tiger or something.

So over CoD. Rushed titles like CoD always feels like the same old, same old, and why pay full price for the same stupid console port… Over it.
