Collector’s Editions. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, but they certainly can help to shift some games, especially for the more rabid fanbases out there. Batman: Arkham Knight has two such editions available, which have just been confirmed for a local release as well by Ster Kinekor . And you might need to own Wayne Manor in order to have enough coin to afford them.

First up, the more affordable limited edition of the pair of Arkham Knight special releases. That one will go for a cool R1599.99 RRP, and includes:

Arkham Knight (2)

  • Custom Art Book – 80 Page, Full Colour Art Book Showcasing the concept art of Batman Arkham Knight
  • Limited Edition SteelBook™ – Unique SteelBook™ case and game disc
  • Comic Book – Limited Edition DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight #0 Comic Book
  • Exclusive Character Skin Pack – Three Unique Skins from DC Comics – The New 52
  • Batman Memorial Statue – Imposing statue commemorating Gotham’s Protector, the Dark Knight

And then there’s the console exclusive R2999.99 Batmobile edition of the game, which includes the Triforce-designed collectible showcase piece, as well as:

Arkham Knight (1)

  • Custom Art Book – 80 Page, Full Colour Art Book Showcasing the concept art of Batman Arkham Knight
  • Limited Edition SteelBook™ – Unique SteelBook™ case and game disc
  • Comic Book – Limited Edition DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight #0 Comic Book
  • Exclusive Character Skin Pack – Three Unique Skins from DC Comics – The New 52
  • Transforming Batmobile  Statue – Fully transformable Batmobile statue realised in exquisite detail by TriForce

Pricy, but worth it to the fans I guess. I’ve pretty much sworn off collector’s editions personally, and that’s something that won’t change, not even for Batman. Sure they’re pretty, but I’d wager some DLC that the cardboard that the game arrives in, will barely be enough to feed me for a few weeks until payday. Arkham Knight is out June 2.

Kinda bummed that you don’t get a remote controlled Batmobile if you’re gonna pay the price a WiiU costs

Yeah, but it does concern me sometimes. I try not to buy games on credit, even no interest. I buy from CNA, on card, when they are on promotion.

Edcon keeps trying to raise the limit on my card and they have no idea what I earn. The last salary they got was in my early twenties.

But, you won Evolve. Money saved there can help buy this?

Just something to add here. According to Rocksteady, the Batmobile measurements are:

    – Height: 4.75” (12.1 cm)
    – Width: 7.03”(17.9 cm)
    – Length: 14” (35.6
    cm)
The base is circular. It measures 16.97″ (43.1 cm) in diameter and is
    1.87″ (4.8 cm) tall.

Looks nice…but I have no place to put both. Plus I don’t play those games so no way I am spending that on a game I don’t play just for the goodies.

I love collector’s editions with statues. Unfortunately, I am not a batman fan. In fact, I am not a fan of super heroes. My last CE was Far Cry 4 on Xbox One. No ragrets (lol). It is awesome

They were only recently confirmed to be hitting South Africa, which is where we’re based. That said, the Batmobile edition is now pretty much close to sold out here too.
