Wreak havoc as a T-Rex in LEGO Jurassic Park

LEGO T-REX

The Lego games are a fantastic set of titles that capture all the charm of the universes they’re adapted from. There’re two very different ones coming out this year, with the first returning us to a land that time forget. LEGO Jurassic Park won’t only be retelling the mildly horrifying tales of surviving the prehistoric park, but will also allow you to roam around as a blocky T-Rex.

TT Games managing director Tom Stone has confirmed that you’ll be able to let loose as various different LEGOsauruses in LEGO Jurassic Park, which will follow all four films in the franchise’s history. You’ll smash blocky buildings, squash cars and even battle it out with other dinosaurs as you establish yourself on top of the food chain all over again.

“Imagine playing as the ominous LEGO T. rex, roaming the grounds of Isla Nublar, smashing LEGO bricks and battling with other dinosaurs — this game is bound to bring out the kid in all of us.”

The news followed a new teaser trailer for the game, which I’ve watched far too many times already. Seeing a vicious T-Rex struggle to do anything with his baby arms never gets old. LEGO Jurassic Park will be out on nearly every platform possible in June, with LEGO Avengers following later in the year. I must admit, I’m far more excited for the former.

  1. Do not think my budget is going to make it this year. My son is already going bonkers about this. His favourite thing in the world is Dinosaurs, 2nd favourite is Lego.

Hopefully the third isn’t Chris Pratt or you’re looking at buying Dvds as well.

“mildly horrifying” … I was 9 when I saw the first one, and I had my eyes closed for most of the kitchen scene…

When I saw the bit where Chris Pratt is on the bike with raptors around him I lost a bit of faith in this movie’s horror potential. Sadly I think they’re going the child-friendly way with this one.

Damn, remember the ‘running through the long grass’ scene from the 2nd one?

          Jis man. Absolutely.
I was always more of a Michael Crichton fan than a Spielberg fan but the great effects and scenes in those movies were so well done. Even though The Lost World had nearly zero in common with Michael Crichton’s version it was still great.
If you’re on pc you should check out The Hunter Primal, I’m looking at buying it sometime. Dinosaur Survival Horror game. Getting good reviews too.

Wishlisted. I’ve never read anything by Crichton, but I think I’ll perhaps get me one or two of his works. The closest I’ve read to anything of the sort is ‘The Island of Doctor Moreau’ which was also very good, and weird.

I’ve only watched that movie. Maybe time to try the book then.
Yea, you see the book of The Lost World is VERY different. It barely has two or three moments similar to the movie. The books are also more violent 🙂

I read about the movies not too long ago, and sadly it doesn’t seem like a single good Island of Doctor Moreau film has ever been made. The book though is tense and exciting, and of course, it’s HG Wells!

I’ll find an excuse to go to Menlyn (pte lexicon…) early one Sunday morning, to buy coffee, perhaps a slice of ridiculously overpriced chocolate cake, and look for Lost World in the adjacent Exclusive books 😀
