This blacksmith can build any video game weapon

Man, I love me movie and video game props. Unfortunately, my bank account feels the exact opposite about my creepy passion for inanimate objects. What’s a guy to do? Build the stuff yourself? Well, that’s exactly what this skilled blacksmith has done.

Propmaster Tony Swatton has been in the business of forging iconic weapons for many years now, and has recently been tapped to create a few that were deemed fictional at best. The latest project of his that has hot the web, is a reproduction of the Orcish battleaxe from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s not just great viewing. It’s educational!

You can watch it above, or alongside a few other weapons that he forged on the Awe Me YouTube channel. Alternatively, you can scroll down and see some more of my favourites, such as the Buster Sword from Final Fantasy, the Sword of Omens from Thundercats (HOOOOOOOOO!) and the blade wielded by Prince Adam in He-Man.

Now that’s a knife.

Its crazy ne! I really want to get into old methods of manufacturing. Milling, turning and smithing (is that even a word?) is so much more rewarding than just programming a CNC and letting the machine do all the work.

It is indeed a word! I would love to get my hands dirty with that stuff. Very few iron mongers around these days. Way more satisfying hitting something with a HAMMER than fiddling about with a CMS.

Lol, talk about stress relieve! My boss still known one guy who still uses a hammer and anvil to do metal work. Very very few actual artisans left in SA. Some of them actually earn more than engineers because of the scarcity of their skill. Even this guy in the video is probably over 50.
