I don’t know about you guys, but I like to solve my arguments with guns. Whether it’s deciding between the existentialism philosophies of Kierkegaard or Nietzsche by firing off a few Magnum rounds or asking for directions with an AK-47, guns are my preferred dialect. And this year, there were plenty of shooters that were speaking my language. But our pew-pewer of the year was a clear favourite.
And the winner is…Far Cry 4!
Far Cry 3 was a decent game, but one that felt lacking in several areas. It was by no means a bad game, but it wasn’t exactly truly excellent either. Far Cry 4 however, thankfully was. Taking the Far Cry 3 foundation and laying a new slab of improved gameplay cement over it, Far Cry 4 was more than just a mere upgrade or a re-skinned Far Cry 3.5.
Ubisoft found the necessary balance between the new and the familiar, as the land of Kyrat was home to escalating battles, a new sense of verticality and a seamless co-op experience that shared the bullets and fun. Whether you wanted to go in guns blazing or sneak around in the shadows, Far Cry 4 had something for everyone. It’s also the only game this year that allowed you to rush an enemy camp while riding an elephant, which is winning material to us.
Honourable mentions
Wolfenstein: The New Order, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny and Titanfall

Your best sports game page is not available. Does that mean there weren’t any good sports games?

The co-op in Far Cry 4 was loads of fun. And it’s simple things like when you have to pull up alongside a truck so that the other player can jump from your vehicle to hijack it. Or stampeding with elephants through a convoy. Or stealthy approaching an area to rescue hostages and then dropping the bad guys without alerting them.

The “save the rhino” me says no (you have to shoot some) but the rest of me agrees wholeheartedly, it’s a great game especially the part when (wait can’t say, don’t want any spoilers do we) ;P

Ooo… This is a toughy. Far Cry 4 is a really good game. But, for me, Destiny and Wolfenstein are right up there too, if not fractionally ahead. Been a decent year for fps fans.
