Sony’s hybrid Move controller patent

chimera

Sony’s PlayStation move might’ve sold 15 million units, and while it’s some pretty good, accurate tech, it just hasn’t resonated much with core gamers who want actual games, and not just sports and fitness nonsense. Sony needs to do something to make Move viable. Cue the Hybrid controller.

What it seems to be, because that;s exactly what it is, is a chimera controller that combines the dual-shock with the Move; adding those bulbous lights to the top of the controller/. It also allows the thing to be split in the middle so that each half can be used independently.

The patent, which was filed last year but only went public recently (as reported by TheSixthAxis) seems to indicate that this monstrosity is intended for the Ps3, as opposed to being an early look at the controller for the PlayStation 4.
