Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 announced

I had my target locked on. The wind was minimal. Compensation for drag was applied. Flushed my toilet to check for any signs of the Coriolis effect. Finally, that damn Pekingese dog that would not stop yapping would be silenced, and I’d have the book deal that I so richly deserved.

Surprising just about nobody, developer CI Games have revealed that a third Sniper: Ghost Warrior game is on the way. It’ll be out in 2016 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. According to the press release which I’m copying and pasting from because today is too lovely a day to apply effort, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 will be developed as a AAA “production effort”. Sniper Elite V2 senior producer Steve Hart is on board this game, so there may be some light at the end of the sniper scope for the threequel.

“The Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise is one of the most popular in the CI Games portfolio with over 5.5 million copies sold, so we’re investing a significant amount of effort into the third instalment,” said CI Games CEO, Marek Tyminski. “We’re fully committed to creating a AAA franchise that gamers can rely on for the ultimate first-person sniper experience.”

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 will be set in Eastern Europe, as players find themselves having to duck bullets from three warring factions. The gameplay will also be far more open, with players using a sandbox approach to eliminating targets, sticking to the shadows or going for a proper assault.

And that actually sounds kind of cool. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was a decent game. If you enjoyed being prone and picking off your targets one by one while factoring in for wind drag, the game would easily satisfy you. But like Sniper Elite 3 proved this year, players want more. They want to move around, and set the perfect shot up.

I’d dig to see more of that in Ghost Warrior 3. Now keep quiet, I have that damn yapper in my sights…

I think this announced sounds very interested. I play in previous part of this game and I’m very happy to hear they want to create the next one. Now I’m so excited and I can’t wait more information about it.

Most important thing developers can learn from Sniper Elite 3 is that players DO NOT WANT THEIR GODDAM SCOPE RETICLE TO DISAPPEAR AFTER MAKING IT THROUGH A TOUGH SECTION OF A MISSING.

Great news. Honestly, it was not a surprise to me. But it’s very cool that they want to continue his second good game. I wonder whether in this project will also work with Deck13? It would be great, because it goes them for good.

I agree with you. This information is great. If CI Games will work with Deck 13 this Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 can be very different from previous part of this game. I wait for more information about this game.

I’m not sure whether it was Deck13 but if they went Lotf can do together Sniper: GW3. It could be interesting!

As for me, great news. Always be some variety in shooters. Let’s hope it will take to heart the comments and criticism. And create a game so which the players want. Time will tell.
