Skyrim will include…Cannibalism?

When Skyrim launches next week, it may be in a bit of trouble. A vibrant game with jaw-droppingly realistic visuals that skirts too far off the beaten path is ripe pickings for any over-zealous politician, and the choice to include some questionable content could cause some controversy.

While the previous Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion, included some vampire themes, Bethesda is going a step further and allowing for players to make a choice when it comes to having or not having some of that scrumptious leg of Larry.

According to the entry for Skyrim on BBFC’s website, Bethesda have a cannibalistic section in their game, with the rating reading as follows:

A section where you make the choice whether to join a group of cannibals in eating human flesh.

This isn’t the first time that cannibalism has featured in a Bethesda game however, as their Fallout games featured a character perk that allowed for health regeneration whenever a player chomped down on some “strange meat”, cuts if which could be found sold by wasteland vendors.

Group cannibalism however? That’s a whole new level for risky gameplay from Bethesda, but then again, players can choose not to partake if they want to, something that critics will no doubt ignore if they complain about this gameplay feature.
