Rumour–Will Battlefield 4 release in October?

GET DE GARMEZ!

So Battlefield 4 was revealed last week, and hot damn! It may be the same Zero Dark Thirty gameplay, but it sure does make explosions and generic soldiers look more realistic than ever. So when is it out? Quite possibly in late October it seems.

You can thank Microsoft for this slip of the release date. NeoGAF picked up on a post over on the official Xbox forums, which was promptly removed before a screen grab could be nabbed. Still, some text was copied over thanks to the GAFfers;

Only in Battlefield can players go through a building instead of around it, eject from a jet and take out the enemy mid-free fall, or flip a tank. DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that Battlefield 4 will arrive on the Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013.

Take it with a pinch of salt, but it’s not too far fetched to imagine the game shipping at this date. Battlefield 3 shipped back in late October of 2011, while Medal of Honour Warfighter was also a late October game last year.

That release window also gives EA a decent amount of time to make some headway before annual sales juggernaut Call of Duty arrives. Battlefield 4 is headed to current-gen platforms at the moment, but no word yet on any official next-gen console releases. Although I’d be absolutely flabbergasted if this one didn’t pop up on the PS4 anyway.

  1. I LOVE BF3, still play it on PS3 all the time, but I’d really like to play BF4 on the PS4…. Hopefully it will be available on PS4 at the consoles launch…

    If they dont release BF4 on the next gen consoles it would really be a bad move…

      One of my friends joked that EA and Microsoft’s recent partnership might mean a delayed release of Battlefield 4 on PC and PS3&4. I doubt it, but that would be consistent with their current desire to “Just Fail”.

        Haha. I personally hate these “partnerships”. For example Call Of Duty with Microsoft, they are like best friends now, haha.

        But on topic, I believe that BF4 will release on current and next gen consoles, just like Assassins Creed IV. (Which is also a damn lame move in my opinion) It will leave us with this decision if we want the game on release date with bad performance or wait a couple of months for the next gen release….wtf…
