Raising the Bar: A Half-Life fan film

crowbar

Why is it that Hollywood completely manages to mangle videogame to film adaptations, while fan films somehow manage to capture the essence of the original medium? Oh right, it because they’re fan films..and not money-hungry-producer films.  Here’s one that depicts the adventures of a certain, very famous crowbar.

“When an experiment goes wrong, it unleashes a catastrophic event on the Black Mesa Research Facility. As scientists scramble to find a way out, the game’s iconic weapon– the crowbar– finds its rightful owner,” says the film’s blurb

It’s got some pretty bad acting, a tiny bit too much G-Man and isn’t factually correct according to the canon – but it nails the tone of Half-Life perfectly.

Enjoy. [Thanks to Grant Hancock for the tip]

I see what they did there. Freeman aka King Arthur. None before him were worthy of the crowbar aka Excalibur.

I’d totally watch this film. 😀
