I’m ridiculously amped for Darksiders II. Sure, the first one may have been a little derivative of God of War and the Legend Zelda – but it copied borrowed from those games with style. The sequel’s coming soon – and it’ll give players the opportunity to step in to the shoes of another of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse; Death.
If you’re as excited as I am, you’ve already got your pre-order in; which is good news for you – because now you’ll be getting the Limited Edition at no extra cost.
So what’s in the Limited Edition?
In a press release, THQ confirmed that all current and future pre-orders will now get upgraded to the Limited Edition which includes…a voucher for free DLC.
According to the release, “The Darksiders II Limited Edition will include the standard retail game along with a unique code allowing the purchaser the opportunity to download Argul’s Tomb, the game’s first single-player downloadable content pack, for free once it becomes available.”
So it’s pretty much a pre-order bonus then? Well, yes.
For those of you who do want a fancy collector’s Edition, THQ has detailed that as well – and it includes DLC voucher, life-sized (presumably wearable!) Death Mask with stand, exclusive in-game armour and scythe set with "enhanced stats," a "digital version" of the soundtrack, and a hardcover art book. While I will no doubt revel is scaring the bejeesus out of my kids with that mask, I’m really quite interested in the art book – because it’s largely the art design of the first game that won me over.
