There’s something odd about Pokémon X and Y being a 3D game. Sure, I’m going to miss the more two-dimensional sprites, but at the same time it makes sense for Nintendo to make a 3D Pokémon game for a 3D system. Who’da thunk it?
Still, the game is looking pretty damn awesome on the 3DS. Over in Japan, land of the rising sun and game show courses that will break you, new gameplay was shown off on Pokémon Smash. Yes, that’s right, Japan has a TV show dedicated to pocket monsters.
In the clip, battles, Pokémon captures, navigation and fishing were shown off, while a wild Japanese Host Show lady used Shriek on the audience. It was super effective. Dozens of viewers are still in hospital. See for yourself below:
The game is out in October on 3DS, and more info is filtering in every week, such as those new legendries which look dam purdy. And to this day, there is no moment that is more tense than waiting to see if your Pokeball has captured that rare wild Pokémon.

Can’t believe they made a TV show out of this… but it looks cool!!! Reminds me of Pokémon Red and Blue the good old days….
