Is your favorite game involving a really angry Greek guy that isn’t Leonidus about to get screwed up by a company trying to break out into the online realm?

This may very well be the case as a posting on Gamasutra shows that Santa Monica Studios, famous for the God of War series, is now looking for some clever man from the internet to come and conjure up amazing feats of brilliance such as “as in-game communication, client-server, match-making, leaderboards”. Is competitive or co-operative multiplayer headed to the next God of War?

Kratos works best on his own in my opinion. Who’s with me?

Here’s the full job description on Gamasutra:

Like I said above, as cool as co-op always seems as a new addition, it just doesn’t work for everything, and God of War is one of those everythings. Versus multiplayer also sounds like it would just be some crazy chaotic mash-fest, so I’m not so keen on that idea either.

Then again, maybe Santa Monica Studios have some ingenious plan up their sleeves that none of us could even dare to fathom. Well, that or maybe they are working on something else that we don’t know about yet.

I’m still really surprised by the fantastic implementation of multiplayer into Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, so you never know. What do you guys think of multiplayer in God of War?

Could it really work?
