Y’know what? I like the idea of Assassin’s Creed 4. I like the cut of the jib of that nautical setting for the game, with a new protagonist, naval feature and general pirate theme. I just don’t want the Assassin’s Creed guff attached to it. I’m sick of the Animus, the Templar vs Assassin’s war and those damn apples of Eden. Ubisoft knows how to make a decent action game, but the whole legacy of Assassin’s Creed is starting to keelhaul their efforts. Anyway, here’s a few new looks at AC4 hero Edward Kenway, who hopefully won’t be a complete tool like Connor was in AC3.

So what’s new in Assassin’s Creed 4 then? Well, it looks like we’ll be doing some deep sea diving, more oceanic quests and will hunt whales. Because $%# whales man! The game is out October 29, just like all the other games in the series. Cue the pirate talk, because I know that there is no way in hell that I’m going to get through this day without someone yelling about shivering timber.

  1. I really hope they dont try and glorify whale hunting in modern games as well. Next we’ll be able to kill elephants and rhino for reward.

I still think they’re missing out on the asian settings.
