KISS some Angry Birds!

Gene Simmons, and the remnants of his Rock ‘n Roll band, are no strangers to merchandising. They’ve sold everything from Christmas special cartoons to KISS make-up kits, no doubt angering many a staunch mother in the process.

But in what could be one of the more lucrative ideas for the band that is fronted by a pensioner with tongue issues, it seems that Gene Simmons totally wants to cash in on the Angry Birds phenomenon.

Simmons recently spoke to IndustryGamers about the idea, claiming that the band was keen to get into business with Angry Birds developer Rovio for a tie-in of some sort, as well as getting chummy with Sony for some other KISS video game ideas.

Well, we’re talking with Sony games now. We are really trying to take it in areas that haven’t been done before and have stayed out of the marketplace because the ideas simply weren’t exciting enough. So while the gaming world is waiting for the KISS games that are going to explode, we’re busy taking the brand to places where no band has gone before.

So Hello Kitty is one of the biggest brands on planet Earth. Now there’s KISS Hello Kitty, which we’ve already launched in 90 countries. We’re talking with Angry Birds, KISS and Angry Birds, which will become a deal.

It wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see an Angry bird in KISS make-up flying through the air with it’s tongue sticking out in the near future, considering the other promotional tie-ins that Rovio has used the property for.

But if there’s one project that I’d like to see again, it’s a new KISS: Pyscho Circus game. The original 1990’s game may not have been too well received, but it’s always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

Either that, or maybe we’ll see a Playstation move game where you can use the wand to paint digital Kiss make-up onto your digital reflection.
