I am incredibly keen for the new Mass Effect. I know it’s not being released any time soon, but I’m just curious about what it will hold – will some characters return? Where will the story take place? What mechanics will change and how will Bioware deal with a universe sans Shepard? While those questions are yet to be answered, twitter gives us a tiny glimpse into some progress that’s coming.
We already knew that the new Mass Effect (which isn’t going to be Mass Effect 4) was going to have “delightful multiplayer”. Chris Wynn even went to so far as to reassure everyone that multiplayer isn’t the only priority:
If anyone is concerned that online will take away from single player, I assure you that SP will be MASSIVE in the next Mass Effect.
— Chris Wynn (@The1Wynn) February 12, 2015
More recently, we can be reassured that the game is in a playable state and they are playing with some cool elements for combat:
Combat is looking pretty great in the latest builds. Biotics plus weapons plus powerful hardware is amazing.

Most interesting is that Mass Effect is now getting some motion capture loving:
Getting our motions on at TheCaptureLab in Vancouver. A very cool scene for the next #MassEffect. pic.twitter.com/BRS0RraTuI

I am so excited for this – if they’re already do motion capture, that should mean we’ll get some new gameplay footage soon. Perhaps even before E3? I’d love to see a trailer sometime next month, with actual gameplay shown off during E3 presentations. Now that would be glorious and maybe make me cry a little. Then again, I’m totally a part of the problem – I want to see the whole trilogy (and all DLC) remastered and put on new generation consoles.

aye, trying to keep the savings in a decent place is possibly the most difficult thing to do when you own a PC.
the hardest part to accept is that we’ll have the same tempations the same time next year.

If I had one wish for Christmas it would be for EA to relinquish control of ME. They bring nothing to the table anyways, except their own interests

People forget that under EA, Mass Effect went from a good game to Oh my Gods I am on my like seven hunderdth and eleventeeth playthrough of Mass Effect 2.
And the Sims 4 wasn’t bad as well.
So EA sometimes get it right…

March 26, 2015 at 11:04
TO be honest, I don’t play a game for the ending. I play it for the body of the game, the mechanics, and the story as you play. The ending I wasn’t upset with, could have been better of course, but I didn’t rage like many others did.

Dont even get me started on the Matrix. Watched the first one (worst movie I have ever seen). I am “the one” well good for you is there a point then, no. Ok cheers.
Problem is there are so many whores for special affects, people forgot about the non-existent and pointless story.

March 26, 2015 at 10:58
The truth is, with almost everything happening in a trilogy, one game/movie/book or whatever is going to be the standout (ME 2) and one is going to be the could have been better entry (ME 3).
Still, ME 3’s sad little ending aside, it was still a solid entry into the trilogy.

March 26, 2015 at 11:05
Agreed. With any trilogy one will be the best that the others won’t live up to.

Gameplay at E3, you high girl?
Kromas is drunk with power!
March 26, 2015 at 11:03
Actually I bet there will be gameplay. It will be a documentary and in the background someone will be playtesting a dev build as the camera pans out.
Last years documentary style reveal simultaneously made me happy and extremely annoyed at how little actual info we got.
EA REVEALS SHOULD BE PROPER GAME TRAILERS!
Documentaries should stay on discovery.

This will be the game that will make me get a console on the day of release. Been waiting for this patiently. I wont even be surprised once they release ME4 they will do a remaster of the previous games for next gen. Id buy them all!
