Hitman: Absolution and Deadlight your April Games for Gold freebies

Microsoft’s said that the games they’ll be offering Xbox Live gold users will get better – and that certainly seems to be the case. According to the internet the next game that Xbox Live gold users will be getting on Microsoft’s deal is Square and IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution. Later in the month, they’ll be getting Deadlight.

The news comes from Xbox community manager Raj Patel, who tweeted the information a little pre-emotively.

“April 1, Xbox LIVE Gold members get Hitman: Aboslution(Xbox 360) thanks to #GamesWithGold,” he said in a since deleted tweet.

Take this is a mere rumour for now – but we’re absolutely certain it’s true. The astute amongst you will have noticed that the game was already part of PlayStation Plus’ line-up last year. The key difference here is that once you download a game through Games for Gold, it’s yours for life – so you could buy a 1 month subscription, grab the game, and cancel the thing at the end of the month, keeping the game.

Patel didn’t reveal the second game, which usually comes towards the middle of the month, but we already know what it is: Deadlight – the survival horror action platformer by Tequila Works. It’s a divisive game, with some loving its interesting aesthetic, while others less convinced.

What do you think? Is Microsoft stepping up, or is this line-up lacking?

Oh man, this game was so many levels of totally frigging awesome. Haven’t had as much fun playing a game as this in ages. That being said, loving Sleeping Dogs right now!

      I see you’re back to being a bacteria…

Sleeping Dogs is really awesome, but I’ve managed to get distracted from it.

Sleeping Dogs was just amazing. Some silliness with collecting achievements, but on the whole, just WOW.

And the Karoake, what a surprise. Still hate it, though

Those are two good games. I really enjoyed Deadlight – only problems with it are it’s pretty short & you probably won’t replay it, but seeing as it’s free, great.

Yet more crap that ive already owned….and still own. Yes I complain about the “free” games. Why? Because all the games in existence can be diwnliaded and played for “free” using torrents. “Free” Doesn’t make crap like keflings better. Its just free crap. Deadlight? Yea fun for the 45 minutes it took to complete it on my first play through. Havent touched it since. Hitman? Still have it, collecting dust in the basement. Didnt enjoy it back in 2012…..I doubt it will be enjoyable now simply cause its “free”. Games with gold is like herpes. Get in bed with microsoft…..microsoft gives you a origram(disease) that has bi monthly outbreaks of shit you dont want or need. Games with gold=herpies with Microsoft.

The internet thanks you for your opinion. I want to offer mine tho. It may be crap for you, but not for everyone. And the funny part is you paid for it, only to find it crap. We’re getting it for free, and we might even enjoy it. No one cares how crappy it was for you, or how Hitman is collecting dust in your basement, because some of us might want to replay Deadlight, maybe with friends you have over (If you dont have any, and based on your comment, I’m assuming that, then I suggest you get some). Hitman has immense replay value. It’s a sandbox. Might not be suited for a one-tracked Call of Duty-esque gaming style. These are already fun games. The purpose of making it free isn’t to make them better. It’s so that people who dont have them can enjoy them. You spelled herpes wrong by the way.

tl;dr You sound like a really bitter person with herpes
