Get caught cheating in Max Payne 3, and you’ll suffer the hell of Cheatception

What's the similarity between a girlfriend and an Xbox? If you cheat on them, you don't get an achievement.

We all love a good round of multiplayer, and generally, the majority of us are good sports, handling defeat well and teabagging at an acceptable level whenever we win. Of course, every game has its cheaters, from Modern Warfare and Battlefield, through to the recent Max Payne 3, which has lately become a haven for those despicable hacks, ruining the otherwise sublime gunplay in a game of Crew Wars.

Fortunately, developer Rockstar has a novel solution for that.

Get caught cheating, and you won’t just face suspension in the game. Oh no, that would be far too easy, as Rockstar has a more diabolical method of filtering out such players. Instead, cheaters will be thrown into the same game together, making for matches where nobody wins.

As Rockstar explained;

Anyone found to have used hacked saves, modded games, or other exploits to gain an unfair advantage in Max Payne 3 Multiplayer, or to circumvent the leaderboards will be quarantined from all other players into a “Cheaters Pool”, where they’ll only be able to compete in multiplayer matches with other confirmed miscreants.

That’s a sight that I’d pay to see, watching such players lose their cool and become livid at the fact that their “l33t skillz” with some game code happens to have little to no effect. Now if only Activision would make use of that patent of mine, that sends an electric shock through a controller into any cheaters caught on Modern Warfare, or for people who surpass a certain decibel level on their headsets.
