Gamescom 2014–Driveclub gets muddy

There are so many racing games in the market that you really have to have something special to break into the genre now and the team behind DriveClub are truly hoping they have it.

At Gamescom 2014 we were given a glimpse into the second screen application that will be released with Driveclub that allows you to keep up to date with how your racing club is doing, what challenges have been completed and where your crew sits in the ranking.

The next big announcement is that the game will now include dynamic weather but with a difference. Instead of the game now deciding when and where to throw in some weather the ability is being given to you the player.

You can setup a race and have complete control of the weather so that the race starts nice and sunny and then a massive storm hits before moving away for a dry quick run to the end.

However even though you can plan the weather each race will still be different as each rain drop is separate and will dynamically form puddles and slick spots so you’re always going to have to keep your wits about you.

Driveclub is launching on October the 8th this year for the PlayStation 4

    Wasn’t a free PS+ version planned during PS4 launch?
