Video games. What are they good for? Absolutely nothin’! HWOAH! According to over zealous preachers and opportunistic politicians, video games will turn your kids into a bunch of social delinquents that will listen to the Parlatones. Frightening stuff. But one doctor who has done some research, thinks that a specific genre of games can actually help with your short term memory in the long run.
Dr. Lorenza Colzato of Leiden University in The Netherlands took a bunch of regular gamers and some complete novices according to Destructoid, and threw them into an experiment to test out that theory about a better short-term memory being linked to video games.
Published in Psychological Research magazine, the data gathered showed that FPS games “require players to develop a flexible mindset to rapidly react and monitor fast moving visual and auditory stimuli.”
Or you can watch this convenient video summary.
So remember, the next time you forget where you left your kids, go fire up some Halo, play for a few hours, and you’ll eventually remember where you last saw your toddlers.

Politicians confuse FPS and CoD. CoD will make your brian go to mush while listening to the Parlotones and the Justin Bieber as the same time while cutting yourself.

What game is so bad that you’re forced to listen to the Parlotones?

I remember watching this kid play CoD, he was swearing at this other player like a CoD can only. Little did he know that the other player was actually recording him… The other player then ended up playing BACK to the kid his fing and blinding. The kid didn’t even notice! Not very good memory…
