It’s been a helluva week so far, and by now, Bioware and Mass Effect 3 have been hogging the headlines completely, but for all the wrong reasons. Mass Effect 3 is one truly fantastic game, as you can read here, but its a title that is apparently saddled with a terrible ending.

Personally, I’m quite happy with the decisions that I made, which led up to how I ended the game, but there are quite a few other gamers out there who don’t feel the same. They’ve been quite vocal about it as well, complaining, organising and death-threatening like there was no tomorrow, causing developer Bioware to stand up and take notice.

They’ve even decided to release content that will somehow expand upon what happened at the end of ME3, in order to appease the fans. But here’s the thing, should developers ever cave in to fan demands, or stay strong and stand by their product?

It could set a dangerous precedent in the industry. After all, what’s to stop fans from demanding that the ending to various other titles be changed, every time that they’re unsatisfied with the end result?

What do you think?
