In another FFD from a man who’s unable to pronounce his own name, Erwin Kempff, he wonders if any others among you regularly re-play your games. You see, he’s played through Mass Effect 2 more times than he has fingers on his hands and toes on his feet – something I can’t quite get my head around.
I hardly replay anything – beyond a level or two to see what I could do different in games that really warrant a second look, like Hitman or Dishonored. You might argue, in an RPG like Mass Effect or Skyrim or similar that you could do the same – but I feel it detracts from my personal story within those sorts of games. Something Like Mass Effect where my choices (arguably) have meaning, I prefer to one-shot them; living with the consequences.
It’s the same for games like Telltale’s rather excellent The Walking Dead or even Bioshock; replaying them diminishes their impact with each successive play-through – and I don’t their impact lessened.
And then there’s replaying solely for achievements or trophies, something else I just can’t quite understand – but maybe that’s just because I’m in a position where I’ve always got too much stuff to play.
So tell us; do you replay your games? And if so, why?
