Its a new year, which means new games, new tech and fresh rumours. One such rumour is that Fallout 4 happened to be at E3 last week, but judging by Geoff’s lack of radiation burns after his trip to the Bethesda booth, I have high doubts about that. And Bethesda’s Pete Hines has just locked in a 95% kill chance on that juicy little tidbit.
"[Fans] have been clammering for a Fallout game for a long time now,” Hines said to Polygon.
What people need to understand — whether it is Bethesda Game Studios, Arkane or anybody — expecting information like that in any short period of time after they moved off one project to the other is really unrealistic.
We are not into annual franchises, just trying to spin out a version of our game year, after year, after year,like we have never done that, I don’t see that it is something that we are doing anytime soon.
But that doesn’t mean that we are going to take our time and wait six or seven years in between a game that a studio puts out. But these are big games that take a long time and folks need to understand that we have a very certain way of going about things.
I still think that Fallout 3 is one of the standout games that best captured the spirit of this generation of gaming. From the moment you first set foot into the irradiated world of a devastated future Earth, to the combat system and character choices available, Fallout set quite a few benchmarks.
And if Bethesda wants to take their time crafting a fourth game, then I’m more than happy to wait. It’ll get here eventually after all.

I’m glad Bethesda doesn’t do anual releases. It gives them time to really make a game worthwhile. I’d still like to see a Fallout4 happening some time in the future though

Well I only started Fallout New Vegas a little while ago. Those two games are so big by the time I get them to 100% complete, the next one will be out. I would like to know if people would be interested in reading the waste land survival guide – if is were real that is.

Fallout is awesome, but I would rather they remain big and special, with “side” quests that are well thought and not crammed in because of time constraints.

What I genuinely want is an outstanding update / sequel to Fallout: Tactics. The game had such a great idea, and with better handling could be an excellent game.

Yeah, that was a pretty great game. Damn slow though because you had to move all the characters separate. Still loved the game and it had some memorable moments.
