Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls pre-order bonuses detailed

It’s almost time, oh faithful crusaders of the Blizzard brand. Diablo III expands like a waist line during the festive season with the Reaper of Souls add-on this year. And if you pre-order it, you’ll get a bonus or two.

Pre-order Reaper of Souls on Battle.net , or do so with a redeemed retail key on or before March 31, and you’ll get the following digitial goodies:

  • Wings of Valor: Summon the radiant wings of the Archangel of Valor for your characters in Diablo 3.
  • Valla the Demon Hunter: Unlock Valla the Demon Hunter in Heroes of the Storm – the upcoming free-to-play online team brawler featuring iconic Blizzard characters.

For those early adopters who are gnashing their teeth right now, fret not. If you’ve already pre-ordered on Battle.net, you’ll get the Wings of Valor on March 20. As for Valla the Demon Hunter, I hope you lot are patient.

Heroes of the Storm has been in development for ages now, and despite the fact that the version that I played felt pretty much complete, you all know how Blizzard won’t release a product until they’re satisfied with it.

Reaper of Souls however, is out soon. March 25 to be exact. The PC version looks fine and dandy, but personally, I want to get my grubby paws on the complete Ultimate Evil edition for the PlayStation 4.

As for the beta testers out there, don’t forget that the reset button is being hit soon, which will set your character information back a tad. For everyone else, ready your bandwidth for Patch 2.0.1 which will most likely be present just before the expansion launches.

  1. “you all know how Blizzard won’t release a product until they’re satisfied with it” – yeah, with the D3 launch we all know this doesn’t mean much anymore. Not like in the past…will wait for the next gen and then MAYBE waste more money on a Blizzard product.

Does this mean it still has Always Online DRM?

I feel better now though 🙂

My tummy churns knowing that people will spend so much money on a NEXT GEN console to play hybrid games.
I still cant believe it was announced during the PS4 reveal.

I pre-ordered a CE on a retail store, but that doesn’t qualify as pre-ordering the game. Now, in order to get those freebies, I have to either:

1.- Pre-order a digital copy, activate it, then upgrade to CE when I get it and contact support to get back the Standard key I wasted.
2.- Pay more to get it on time.

Why is it called pre-order if my pre-order doesn’t qualify? Why not call it “first-come-first-served”?

They give us 1 Class, 1 Act. Otherwise, just fix the broken game. But it’s broken, the always online part annoys me sometimes. Then they expect us to pay $40 for it. No thanks – I’ve learnt my lessons. Perhaps I’ll wait till Thanksgiving for their prices to go down. I would honestly pay $20 tops.

Many people seem to forget why the “always online” feature is there, and why is it needed. The only way to prevent hacking the game, exploiting duplication of items, altering stats on your character and the such is by always requiring a connection to a server that stores your character data, and do not store data locally.

As a programmer myself, I can tell you that there is not way, other than getting your data from a safe place (AKA a distant server) to prevent hackers to get their hands on it.

If you’d rather play a game plagued by people with absurds stats who will just ruin the game experience, go ahead and play on consoles. I do not want diablo 3 to turn into the hackfest D2 was. Im pretty sure Im not the only one that thinks that way. So stop whining about something when you dont even know what purposes it serves.

I am sure this game came out like 37 years ago. Was it just the public BETA that people wanted to pay $60 for?

My question is simple: I’d like to preorder and receive the bonus features, but can go out on release and grab collectors “as I much rather enjoy having an actual physical copy of the game” Do all the extra features from pre order come included with collectors or not

You can buy the game from G2A and have the pre-order bonuses. I payed only 28.90 EURO for it instead of 40 EURO. Check G2A if you don’t believe me. I would be happy if you use my reflink. Thanks! https://www.g2a.com/r/banditsatzero

I have no problems what so ever with the game being always online. Error 37 does not appear anymore for anyone. I find it a bit childish and stubborn to flame the same old error time after time again. And for Blizzards servers being offline for maintenance that is a good thing because it forces some people to actually stand up from their computer screens and go outside and breathe some fresh air… Maybe even move about some….
