Aren’t we just the luckiest bunch this year. We’re getting not one, but two different Assassin’s Creed titles launching within a week of each other. The one kicks off a new era for the franchise, with revamped gameplay and a brand new time period. But before all of that there was the American saga, and this launch trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue sets up the conclusion beautifully.
Rogue might look scarily similar to last year’s stellar hit, Black Flag, and I suspect it will be. But that’s not really the main draw here. While Black Flag survived purely on excellent gameplay alone, Rogue looks to kick things up a notch with a story from the other side of the Caribbean curtain. You’re not an assassin this time. Instead, you’re hunting them.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is far more interesting to me because it’s taking the best things about the American saga and mashing them into one game. The only redeeming quality of Assassin’s Creed III was it’s brief and shallow questions of The Creed. Were we actually playing as the good guys? Are the Templars as bad as they’re painted out to be? Aren’t both sides trying to achieve the same thing?
I’m hoping Rogue brings these ideas to the forefront of its narrative, as protagonist/antagonist Shay Cormac slices and dices his way through the Assassin Order that Conner eventually finds in shambles. It looks like an absolutely thrilling conclusion to last-generation’s saga, and I absolutely can’t wait for it. Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is out on Xbox 360 and PS3 next week, with a PC launch happening early next year.

Because they’re a consolation prize. First prize is a PC 😀

BWAHAHAHA
The 8th gen is the last console gen for sure. Now that every single gamer on the planet is expected to be hooked up to the MATRIX. Whats the point? Might as well invest in a good rig that outputs 4k.

Biggest snow flakes ever. Also the graphics looks extremely dated.

What I find amazing is that gamers are willing to accept these day one 1gig patches as tho every single gamer on the planet is hooked up to the internet.
Does it say anywhere on the box that “THIS IS AN UNFINISHED PRODUCT” INTERNET REQUIRED.
Gamers have to be the most easy going consumer for any market.

Indeed, they should adopt the tried and tested “wait until a massive steam discount is applied” approach.
By that time some DLC is already included and the game is actually properly working

Who needs QA when gamers pay for DEMOs anyway? Asked the bigwig at BETHESDA 😛
