E3 2009: Assassin’s Creed 2 & Splinter Cell: Conviction

 - May 30th, 2009
The E3 madness is starting a day early by the look of it.Two new teaser video's have been leaked showing Assassin's Creed 2 (above) and Splinter Cell: Conviction (below). If we were comparing the two I say Splinter Cell takes it as the more exciting teaser video. But they do their job, I want both... now. Getting There
PSP Go Officially Leaked

 - May 30th, 2009
The much rumoured PGP Go has been officially leaked by Sony's electronic insider magazine, Qore.I think all the rumours were true on this one, the PSP Go doesn't have a UMD drive (bye bye UMD), it's vastly thinner than the PSP 3000, has a sliding screen and unbelievably only has a single analogue stick. The video goes on to tell us that the PSP Go will not be replacing the PSP 3000 but will rather be seen as a more prestigious version of it's little brother. We also get to see LittleBigPlanet, Warcraft ... Need for Speed Shift : BMW G2

 - May 30th, 2009
The Need for Speed series is undergoing a major overhaul at the moment and from what I am seeing, it's going to be a good one.The latest video released happily shows off how awesome the BMW's are looking in the game and the feeling of pure speed is conveyed really well.I personally feel they should have dropped the NFS brand and started something else up but if this is anything to go by ... One of the latest cellular phones from Sony Ericsson, the Aino (to be released during the last quarter of 2009) will apparently feature PSP-like remote play with the PS3.This means that you'll be able to access and play various media content from your PS3 using an Aino phone either over the web or through a wireless local connection.Apparently if you're in the UK, you'll also be able to watch, pause and even record live television using PlayTV on the PS3.  Source: examiner Getting There
DJ Hero – I finally understand why I don’t get it

 - May 29th, 2009
I think this is the first real ingame footage that we have seen of DJ Hero and it has completely cleared up my misgivings about the game.No I am still not the least bit interested in it, but that's actually not a reflection on the game itself but more a reflection on me really. You see I think the music in this trailer is abysmal, it grates on every old man nerve I have and if that is the music I am expected to make in this game then I don't want ... [»]

Rapture Break – Wentworth To Star In Bioshock Film?

 - May 29th, 2009
It seems like the Bioshock movie may be on the move once again. The reason for this news is thanks to none other than Prison Break's Wentworth Miller. He posted recently on Twitter that he isn't too fussed about the cancelation of Prison Break, because he already has something in the works. His tweet goes as follows:"Prison Break may be ending, but I’ve got things in the works. Hint…one word: Bioshock." The question on my mind is, will he have a tattoo of Rapture inked all over ... [»]

SA gamers now also entitled to free cash

 - May 29th, 2009
Always wondered why the rugby jocks were always the ones with the bursaries, while you and your fellow clan of gamers (that also compete in a recreational sense) never seem to get any form of incentive from the higher-ups?Well, the main reason is that gaming in general in our fair country has always been seen as second-rate in comparison to things that seem more “physical” than mental. You might find it interesting that gaming in certain countries overseas is such an important ingredient of the country’s culture that it’s not at all weird to watch a DOTA match in a sold-out stadium arena.Locally, things are however finally starting to change for the best as well, with the rest of the country gradually beginning to recognize that professional gaming is just as much of a sport or recreational activity as cricket and soccer is.Many businesses and entrepreneurs are also keen to jump on the “gaming-friendly” bandwagon, sponsoring many gaming initiatives like massive LANS and so forth. If you’re wondering how you can reap the benefits of ... Dirt 2 Gets It’s First Trailer

 - May 29th, 2009
The first Dirt title from Codemasters was met with mixed reactions from gamers. While the graphics, presentation and even career layout was very well put together, the driving mechanics were most peoples main issue. Codemasters have actually been getting on quite a couple of old time fans nerves recently due to their attempt to make their games more accessible, achieved mostly by creating a driving mechanic that feels pretty much nothing like that of an actual car, but more like some sort of boat. This trailer is the first showing of Dirt 2, and while it ... [»]
