| | Japanese Train Violence | Geoffrey Tim - March 30th, 2009 | A 21-Year-Old Japanese man on the heavily overcrowded Psycho Saikyo Line train was asked to stop playing his cellphone games by an elderly lady. He then did what any sane, rational person would do; He peppered the air with a string of colourful expletives before repeatedly punching the old crone in the face, breaking her jaw in the process. After being restrained by fellow passengers the ageist, misanthropic lunatic was taken to the Toda Park Office station where – in the company of Japanese Police – punched her in ... [»] |

| Gears Update – Did it work? | Gavin Mannion - March 30th, 2009 | The much anticipated Gears of War 2 update landed last week and I finally got around to downloading it on the weekend and giving it a run. Personally the most important thing I was looking for was whether or not the matchmaking had been ... [»] |

| Battlefield Bad Company 2 – Debut Trailer | Gavin Mannion - March 30th, 2009 | Gametrailers have posted up the exclusive debut trailer for the upcoming Battlefield Bad Company 2. The original Bad Company was famous for it’s slapstick humour and boyish charm while the sequel looks like it may be trying to grow up and become a little more serious. There is a moment of humour right at the end but in general the trailer is a lot more serious and really shallow on information. We are going to get helicopters, jeeps, knife attacks and rocket launchers ... [»] |

| Modern Warfare 2 – The War on Drugs | Gavin Mannion - March 30th, 2009 | I was over at www.modernwarfare2.com trying to see if I could get some insight into what MW2 was going to be about when I spotted the above picture. I hate underwater stages in every single game that I have ever played so this doesn’t fill me with confidence at all. The whole point of an underwater stage is to ... [»] |

| Battlefield 1943 Screenshots | Gavin Mannion - March 30th, 2009 | There have been some new screenshots released for the upcoming Arcade title Battlefield 1943 and I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the graphics for an arcade title. Click through to see 4 more higher quality screenshots, as usual click them to make them bigger. I think BF1943 is going to be the ... [»] |

| Sony Bounce Back In The Online Battle | Nick de Bruyne - March 27th, 2009 | A little while ago I posted that Sony was committing online suicide by introducing a fee to developers for any of their content that is downloaded via PSN.
It seems like Sony are bringing the power back to PSN though, with this latest announcement which is a huge incentive ... [»] |

| First Level of Super Mario – Made Out Of Beans? | Nick de Bruyne - March 27th, 2009 | This is one of those strange videos that only ever crawl out of the cracks in the internet on Fridays.
Basically, a bunch of really strange people who sounds like they are humming in Spanish (yes, humming is possible in different languages, ok!) got together to take a zillion photos so that they could recreate the first level of Mario on a plate, using beans.
Now I think that it is pretty obvious that their mothers never taught them to not play with their food, but then ... [»] |

| The Sims 3 to Forgo DRM | Geoffrey Tim - March 27th, 2009 | Spore – The EA-published evolution sim from from SimCity and Sims creator Will Wright featured a particularly draconian online authentication method of copy protection. The Spore DRM controversy spawned a wave of anti-DRM and anti-EA sentiment, even leading to Spore becoming ... [»] |

| Microsoft SA – Game Dev Competition | Werner - March 27th, 2009 | Yesterday was Microsoft’s Developer Days ‘09 event and I was fortunate enough to attend. This kind of event is there for developers to see what new technologies Microsoft has on the development front… or as one of my work colleagues said “DevDays: Drinking on company timeâ€. It was a very ... [»] |

| Could Kodu actually work? | Gavin Mannion - March 27th, 2009 | I have seen a lot said about Kodu over the past few months and I have to admit to say that I have had little faith in it would be a severe understatement. I have attempted to use many graphically powered programming languages in my life so far and without fail every single one of them has been a complete and total failure. So when this ... [»] |

| Booth Babes at GDC | Gavin Mannion - March 27th, 2009 | Contrary to popular belief there were in fact Booth Babes at GDC this year.. Granted there were only two of them and they were both working the same stand but at least there is some hope left. N-Gage are apparently the last bastion of sexist impropriety and for that we adore you, it’s a pity the N-Gage itself isn’t as pretty… Source: Joystiq *According to rumours there were actually a whole pile of silver suited booth babes but as the ... | First blatant sex game on the Xbox Marketplace | Gavin Mannion - March 27th, 2009 | Previously there was a mini uproar about those supposed masseuse games on the Xbox Live marketplace as we all knew what they were really being downloaded for. Well it seems that Microsoft are not as stuffy as we previously thought and are in fact okay with slightly more risqué games on the marketplace. Break One Out is the first ... [»] |

| GDC: God of War III Gameplay Video | Nick de Bruyne - March 27th, 2009 | This God of War III video showing some of the first actual gameplay has made it's way onto the internet from the 2009 Game Developers Conference and shows off some of Kratos's moves that aren't so unfamiliar to most.
A new interesting idea that has been included is shown, with Kratos actually using what looks to be a Cyclops to take out a lot of the surrounding enemies by attacking and sending into a blind rage of pain and destruction.
God of War III is definitely shaping ... [»] |
