The Godfather II – Opening Cinematic

I like EA Games so to avoid jinxing them entirely I won’t say how I feel about this game. Which leaves me very little to say at all… so watch the video and make up your own mind whether this title is worth standing in line for.

Snowblind Map Pack Goes Live

 - March 31st, 2009
Microsoft have just announced that the Snowblind map pack for Gears of War 2 has gone live on Live. I quickly moved off to my Xbox 360 to go and see if they are available in South Africa, even for a short while, so that anyone who is interested could maybe get their hands on them without the use of any VPN's. Problem is ... [»]

Fight Night Round 4 Screenshots

 - March 31st, 2009
EA have released some new screenshots for Fight Night Round 4 and it looks like it is going to be a perfect sequel to the awesome looking FNR3… The blood sweat and tears are looking lifelike and the brutality of the game is perfectly captured… I am not a boxing fan but FNR3 was one of my favourite titles ... April Fool, Sucka!

 - March 31st, 2009
Tomorrow, April 1st, is of course Aprils fool’s day. It’s a day marked by the execution of simple practical jokes or elaborate hoaxes upon friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and *ahem* readers.Since the prevalence of the internet, it’s become traditional for news sites to try and dupe readers with some piece of fictionalised news. Before the internet though, a magazine by the name of Electronic Gaming Monthly famously fooled all but the most perspicacious gamer. We list some of favourite gaming April Fools after the jump.In 1991 EGM gave us their very first April Fool. They promised that by entering a ridiculously long code, the player would be able to play as Castlevania protagonist Simon Belmont in the NES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game. The code though was impossible to ... Another Reason Videogames are Bad for Children

 - March 31st, 2009
Mike Tomich is a man with an agenda; He wants to pry videogame controllers out of the hands of innocent children. Why? Because they’ll inevitably become trained sociopathic killers without ethics and a skewed sense of right and wrong? Because they’ll be destined to a sedentary life of McDonald's and Mountain dew?No, Mr Tomich has through 5 and a half years of unofficial research established that Videogames are a “silent epidemic” of a different sort.Mr Tomich you see, believes that dynamic forces have a negative impact on children’s as yet un-calcified bones, warping and bending them irreparably. The sources of these evil dynamic forces? Video games, computers…and the beloved childhood staple crayons. Yeah Microsoft and Sony – The new evil corrupting our youth is that tyrannical house ... Finally, First Operation Flashpoint 2 Footage

 - March 30th, 2009
When Operation Flashpoint came out a couple of years ago, it stayed pretty low on many peoples radars and in the end, not many gamers even knew that it existed. The truth in my opinion, is that it was a real big shame, because it was one of those titles that was so ahead of it's time that I think that not many people even realised what it was accomplishing. Square Enix Acquires Eidos

 - March 30th, 2009
Japanese RPG conglomerate Square Enix have made their acquisition of UK-based Eidos interactive official. In just a few weeks, the house that Tomb Raider built will be under the control of new Nipponese overlords. Thankfully for them Square Enix have no intentions of changing anything, and will let the developer continue to run as an independent studio, leaving jobs intact. The £84.3 million deal likely bodes well for Eidos; at 3 times their current share value the cash injection will help the ailing software house back on it’s feet. There have been no indications of what this means for Eidos properties, but I’d not say no to a well-produced Legacy of Kain RPG. Source : Eurogamer
Realistic Cosplay – Does it get any better than this?

 - March 30th, 2009
I have never been a fan of the Cosplay movement, while I am a self confessed video game nut I have never had the desire to dress up as my favourite character. Also most of the cosplay characters I have seen have been pretty poor attempts at replicating their favourite characters, however I have to say that Yaya Han has done a magnificent job ... [»]
