Sony Europe are hosting PlayStation day in London on the 6th of May.. That's next Tuesday. Apparently they are going to be revealing a host of key-content that is going to help push the PS3 to the top of the pack this year. I personally expect solid dates on in game XMB's and some new exclusive titles to be announced. So remember to check back on Tuesday to see if something huge has been announced. PlayStation Games & Media News: - The way ahead
So I posted the other day about the IGN comparison between GTA IV on the PS3 and on the Xbox 360... Where the PS3 won out because of extra pop-in on the 360. Well Videogamer.com has put together a very lengthy comparison and this time the 360 comes ... [»]
I first saw this on a forum the other morning and then it got lost in the pile of paperwork... but fear not it's back. Mark Randel, the president of Terminal Reality, has been chatting to videogaming247 about their highly anticipated upcoming game Ghostbusters and he had some very interesting things to say. First off Ghostbusters development is being led on the PS3 because it is property of Sony Pictures... makes sense and it shows us all why these companies enjoy dabbling in multiple areas. However he does go on to ... [»]
It was going to happen – a popular show with a sci-fi theme and a large following will end up with its own game. And for better or worse, Lost got its game. Developed by Ubisoft it had a lot ... [»]
Dale sent me a link to a eurogamer.net article about Metal Gear Online (my latest bug bear)... For the first two pages I felt it was just a more articulate version of myself complaining about this game and it's apparent pointlessness... However by the time I got to the third page my views on this game started to changed. They have apparently added ... [»]
It seems that Nick Nolte has become the designated face for Saints Row 2.. Honestly The first video I can handle and the second one I think is crossing a line. It appears that all the developers want is to cause some controversy so that they can attack GTA's crown. Well GTA IV has set that crown really really high and I don't expect some dodgy trailers and immature rantings is going to change that... I have gone from being excited about this game to ... [»]
A lot of people have been posting some interestingly defensive and angry comments about Fridays article titled “Certainly, for PlayStation 3 owners, there’s absolutely nothing here that makes you feel good about owning the console.â€I understand what everyone is getting at, but it's all because ... Okay so now every website on the planet has GTA IV stories and the guys with the hardware are making the comparison video's. GamesRadar has made a video showing us the differences, or lack thereof, between the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the introducation... I cannot see any difference that couldn't be changed by adjusting the contrast and brightness on your TV.... But this is a pre-rendered scene and it's in the middle of the action where it really matters.
So for the last week we have been running a GTA IV competition where you were meant to recreate screenshots in a variety of ways and submit them for entries. I had some fantastic entries and some not so good ones, there were some complaints about how the competition was run and we have listened to them. The next competition (that ... [»]
By Etienne Vlok Every once in a while, a game is released that has such raw selling potential that it calls for something more out of the ordinary than the usual gathering of gamers on launch day. Indeed, there exists a very special social gathering for just these titles – an occasion where the truly hardcore can congregate to freeze their collective ass off while collecting their game. I speak, of course, of the sacred ritual of the midnight launch. We seldom see it here ... [»]
By Etienne Vlok So, it’s finally here. After waiting for 4 years since its original late 2004 release on PS2, Grand Theft Auto has finally made the leap to next-gen. Along the way, we’ve seen all sorts of shenanigans: Peter Moore tattooing his arm with a GTA IV logo would categorize as ‘memorable’; Jack Thompson blaming everything that ails America today on ... GTA IV has already been virtually confirmed as game of the year and it hasn't even launched yet... That is how good the reviews have been so far.. GTA IV launches at midnight tonight across the country and if you haven't pre-ordered your copy I would get on the phone now to make sure you can collect. ZAPS at Brightwater commons seems ... [»]
What luck, I have just finished Super Mario Galaxy and was coming to see what was going on on this fine public holiday Monday and I found this... What would Bowser look like if he was real, I can tell you he looks a lot more terrifying in this picture than he did in the game.. that little plumber has balls of steel to attack this thing.. Oh and if you haven't played Super Mario Galaxy ... [»]
One of the biggest questions surrounding GTA IV is which version is going to be better. IGN are the first out of the starting blocks with head to head video.. The prefer the PS3 version overall but again their recommendation is to buy whichever one your friends are getting... Eurogamer has said they are doing a face to face next week and I am sure we will see a few more.. So at this time it's 1-0 to the PS3 News: IGN Compares GTAIV for the PS3 and 360 | RockstarWatch
So GTA IV is release tonight (midnight) and the world is already going nuts about this game... IGN has given it a 10/10, Eurogamer.net has given it a 10/10 and I am pretty sure that virtually everyone else is going to be doing the same.. So what are your plans for launch night? Is anyone actually going to work tomorrow or is it GTA all the way?
