| What is it about the Wii? | 
Gavin Mannion - February 27th, 2008 | I just don't understand how Nintendo has managed to do this. It doesn't matter what they create it just looks like a whole heap of fun. Now they have us standing on a flat board pretending to ski down a mountain and it looks like fun. Well it all looks like fun apart from the creepy man in the video, the actual game looks entertaining though. Who thought that making a game with the worst graphics possible could be a winner? |

| Is Gears 2 the only great game on the 360 this year? | 
Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | So we have seen a lot of Sony's hand this year with some expected mega hits to land including, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 however the 360 line up is still looking a little bleak. Only in terms of exclusives however, with Too Human, Ninja Gaiden and Fable 2 being the most obvious ones. I was under the impression that Battlefield: Bad Company was also an exclusive and that really is looking good. However to be fair none of those has anywhere near the reach of Gears of War or Halo. So is Gears the only real reason to own a 360 this year? I have to believe that there is more to come still but so far nothing has been announced. I wouldn't worry to much if you were a 360 fan however, you are still going to get to play Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, Endwar, Frontlines, GTA IV and my tip ... [»] |

Unless I am mistaken it is planned to be released in May this year and after watching this GDC interview I just can't wait. A truly dynamic world battlefield that will be updated on a nightly basis. I wonder who is going to win this war in the end and what happens then? I am still unsure about the voice prompts though, I don't want to really be talking to my TV. |

Apparently there is one game that has not been announced at all yet and is so secret that it hasn't been mentioned anywhere yet. Darren is tied by a non disclosure agreement but he did manage to say If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion. Apparently the game is still basically the same as the classic GoldenEye, however it has been reworked to take advantage of the 360's controller, the graphics have been given a spit and a polish and all in all this cult classic is looking really good.... Well according to a blog on the Variety website it is a clue about the future gameplay. They have spoken to some insiders at Epic who have confirmed that you will be able to block a chainsaw attack and then if you win the mini-game cut your opponent into giblets... sounds like fun.
