| | Metal Gear Solid 4: A release date | Gavin Mannion - February 27th, 2008 | So MGS4 finally has a release date. 12th June 2008 and the image above is the official bundle art work. Honestly that is the prettiest bundle I have seen in a long time. I am not overly interested in the MGS4 game but that bundle makes me want to give it a bash. So who's excited for this game?? | EA Buying Take-Two… People are worried | Gavin Mannion - February 27th, 2008 | So the rumours are flying about EA Games acquiring Take-Two with or without their consent. People are watching the stocks and it looks like EA Games are snapping up Take-Two's stock by the barrel load. So is this a god thing or bad thing for ... [»] |

| What is it about the Wii? | Gavin Mannion - February 27th, 2008 | I just don't understand how Nintendo has managed to do this. It doesn't matter what they create it just looks like a whole heap of fun. Now they have us standing on a flat board pretending to ski down a mountain and it looks like fun. Well it all looks like fun apart from the creepy man in the video, the actual game looks entertaining though. Who thought that making a game with the worst graphics possible could be a winner? |

| A video tribute to our friend Jack Thompson | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | Warning do not click play if repetitive lyrics annoy you. With the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto and the obvious media explosion that Jack is going to cause the guys over at Pure Pwnage have decided to put together a musical tribute to our friendly gaming lawyer. It's not bad and anything that makes fun of Jack is good with me. |

| Vicky Blows… I couldn’t make that up | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | The advert above was found in a mens magazine in the UK, apparently the character above is named Vicky Blows. You couldn't make this stuff up. So honestly now where is the line between advertising and blatantly lying. Vicky is not in DMC4 anywhere, instead you are going to find two effeminate males battling it out against a bunch of monsters. How long do you think these guys are going to battle through DMC4 before realising they have been duped. Not that ... [»] |

| The Wii Is Getting An Adult Game? | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | So that image is pretty much everything you would expect from some strange Japanese anime movie, however this is different. This is a cutscene from inside a game, a Wii game. That's right the Wii is going to be the first next gen console to actually have an adult/erotic game developed for it. So what is the game about? Well you have to clean a high school in heaven that is infested with Filth Devil. If that makes sense to you then great, to ... [»] |

| Is Gears 2 the only great game on the 360 this year? | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | So we have seen a lot of Sony's hand this year with some expected mega hits to land including, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 however the 360 line up is still looking a little bleak. Only in terms of exclusives however, with Too Human, Ninja Gaiden and Fable 2 being the most obvious ones. I was under the impression that Battlefield: Bad Company was also an exclusive and that really is looking good. However to be fair none of those has anywhere near the reach of Gears of War or Halo. So is Gears the only real reason to own a 360 this year? I have to believe that there is more to come still but so far nothing has been announced. I wouldn't worry to much if you were a 360 fan however, you are still going to get to play Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, Endwar, Frontlines, GTA IV and my tip ... [»] |

| Major Nelson Chats about XNA | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | I have a feeling this XNA creators club is going to be huge. Basically if you don't know what it is about, now anyone can develop arcade games for the Xbox 360 and with very little of the normal cost or fuss of producing games get it out there for everyone to try. I downloaded the launcher and tried Jelly Car, which is just fantastic. Once there becomes a bit of a back catalogue of these games I have a feeling you will see it ... [»] |

| EndWar – GDC 2008 Interview | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | This game is looking absolutely amazing. Unless I am mistaken it is planned to be released in May this year and after watching this GDC interview I just can't wait. A truly dynamic world battlefield that will be updated on a nightly basis. I wonder who is going to win this war in the end and what happens then? I am still unsure about the voice prompts though, I don't want to really be talking to my TV. |

| Girlz ‘N’ Games #26 – Pfangirl | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | I am glad to see the local gender equality gaming comic has been updated again. So you think you got the lady in your life exactly what she wanted for Christmas last year. Well maybe it's time to re-think that. According to Pfangirl, the thing that every women really wanted was a Big Daddy :), I could see the use... Source: Pfangirl |

| Mystery PS3 Exclusive Changes Everything | Gavin Mannion - February 26th, 2008 | Darren Waters of the BBC has been given a behind the scenes tour of the top upcoming PS3 games. Apparently there is one game that has not been announced at all yet and is so secret that it hasn't been mentioned anywhere yet. Darren is tied by a non disclosure agreement but he did manage to say If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion. Now that does sound cool. BBC ... [»] |

| LucasArts choose the PS3 as lead platform | Gavin Mannion - February 25th, 2008 | Catching up on some late news I noticed there was quite an interesting story coming out of GDC that I missed. LucasArts were talking about their upcoming game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and the pitfalls of porting games over to the PS3. They had originally chosen the Xbox 360 as the lead platform purely because they didn't actually have any PS3 dev kits until early 2006. However when it came to ... [»] |

| GoldenEye confirmed for the Xbox 360 | Gavin Mannion - February 25th, 2008 | One of the 2008 Xbox 360 exclusives has been confirmed by the Xbox World 360 magazine. Apparently the game is still basically the same as the classic GoldenEye, however it has been reworked to take advantage of the 360's controller, the graphics have been given a spit and a polish and all in all this cult classic is looking really good.... Excited? Well if you played the original then this is one not to miss, if you didn't ... [»] |

| Chainsaw’s at High Noon | Gavin Mannion - February 25th, 2008 | So you have all seen the trailer by now and have wondered if that mini chainsaw battle is just for show or a clue about future gameplay. Well according to a blog on the Variety website it is a clue about the future gameplay. They have spoken to some insiders at Epic who have confirmed that you will be able to block a chainsaw attack and then if you win the mini-game cut your opponent into giblets... sounds like fun. Hopefully it works in ... [»] |
