| | LittleBigPlanet delayed till fall 2008 | feo - December 23rd, 2007 | It appears that LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 is about to be officially delayed until fall 2008... which would be Septemberish South African time...Feo actually posted about this at the exact same time I did... We both obviously want to see this game succeed,Personally I was really stoked about this game but then it started taking to long and I found Crayon Physics instead.True Crayon Physics is not as detailed and indepth as we want LBP to be, but at least it's released... and is stupidly addictive...Seriously if you haven't tried it click here, then ... | SKATE – Reviewed | Gavin Mannion - December 21st, 2007 | SKATE is EA Games first attempt at breaking the stranglehold that Tony Hawks has on the skating genre. In general first attempts are either terrible or pretty good. SKATE is fantastic, easily better than the last Tony Hawks attempt. However that could have something to do with the sheer number of Tony Hawks games that have been released. When you start a new career in SKATE you are given the opportunity to create a skater who can be customised in a million different ways.. personally this type of thing always bores me so I went through it quite quickly, however it did seem very detailed if you are into this sort of thing. The customisation theme is carried through out the game by sponsors and shops offering you new gear whenever you do something good. In one way it is quite nice as you need to choose which lucky company sponsors you and then if you are ... [»] |

| Sony Bundles PS3 with Bravia | Gavin Mannion - December 21st, 2007 | I think today may be the first time I have been tempted to move to Australia. It is being reported this morning that Sony are offering to bundle 40GB PS3's with every full HD Sony Bravia television bought in the land down under. This is probably one of the better moves that Sony has made this year. I know that if I was in the market for a HD TV at this moment the Bravia would jump straight to the top of the list, being that it is a fantastic TV anyway and now comes with a free PS3. It is rumoured that this sort of deal will be making a world ... [»] |

| DMC 4 Xbox 360 vs PS3 video comparison | Gavin Mannion - December 21st, 2007 | What would the world be like without these awesome low res video comparison's.... One thing it does seem to tell us is that the gameplay is frantic and that the 360 and PS3 seem to be quite happy with churning out the action. Apart from that they seem pretty identical... |

| UK game sales set new records | Gavin Mannion - December 21st, 2007 | Finally some real sales information from the other side of the pond. 78 million games were sold in the UK this year, revenue for the 3rd quarter alone came to 332 million pound and the part I found very suprising was The console market now accounts for 79 per cent of software revenues and 75 per cent of total software units. It just doesn't pay to release ... [»] |

| Xbox 360 ports on PS3? | Boswald - December 20th, 2007 | Something new, well actually, this article is more how developers might be writing games for the PS3 console and then downscaling to XBOX 360. The are saying that porting from XBOX to PS3 might not be as easy as porting the other way round.
"Developers are telling us that they are starting to create their games on PS3 first and take advantage of the hardware capabilities and then port down to other platforms so we are seeing tremendous progress from the third party community in terms of what they are able to do with our development kits. You will see some very nice things in 2008 coming from our third party partners ... [»] |

| Preview: Metal Gear Solid 4 | Gavin Mannion - December 20th, 2007 | CVG has a sneak preview of the upcoming blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3. Now personally I have not been very excited about this game since seeing the trailer's, and this review leaves me with that strange feeling of not knowing whether it is good or not. The buttons are sort-of the same, but sufficiently different to feel dislocating Now that doesn't sound promising at all however they do go on to say Solid - the masterful pacing and juxtaposition ... | Zero Punctuation: Mass Effect | Gavin Mannion - December 20th, 2007 | Yay it's Thursday which means it is dustbin day... And Zero Punctuation day. Today Yahtzee is reviewing the hugely popular Mass Effect for the Xbox 360. Thankfully last weeks homosexually riddled review is a thing of the past and he is back to his normal hateful self. As always his reviews contain some colourful language and may not be safe for work. |

| Duken Nukem Forever – Trailer | Gavin Mannion - December 19th, 2007 | Yes believe it or not they are still planning on releasing this vapour ware.. Now I have a secret to admit, I was never a great fan of the original Duke Nukem, I was always more a Quake boy, so I was watching this trailer with a predisposed dislike for the game. Well so far the trailer has not changed my mind, it just does nothing for me... 10 years in the making and it looks like it should have been released on the PS2. Oh well I will be glad when this game finally gets released so it can no longer be the ridicule ... [»] |

It was announced today that two new tracks are available to download from the Xbox Live marketplace for Rockband. These would be Buddy Holly by the Weezer's and My Iron Lung by Radiohead. For the PS3 fans these tracks should be available by Thursday... yeah a whole day later :) Anyway not that this means squat to us ... [»] |

| Penny Arcade – Hands on with Burnout Paradise City | Gavin Mannion - December 19th, 2007 | So Tycho from Penny Arcade has had a hands preview of the new Burnout game and has come out in true Penny Arcade no nonsense style and stated. Also, in a radical reversal - like you might see in a wrestling match - the Playstation 3 version is clearly the better of the two. Clearly. According to Tycho the PS3 version is ... [»] |

| Latest US charts… Wii plummets | Gavin Mannion - December 19th, 2007 | The lack of Wii consoles must be starting to trouble Nintendo... The Wii was beaten by the PS3 (possibly for the first time) in America this week and absolutely thrashed by the Xbox 360. Yes it's true.. the Wii came dead last. 360 - 330,501 PS3 - 192,730Wii - 173,798 And no you are not reading that wrong, the 360 sold 330 thousand consoles in one week.... The software sales are in ... [»] |

| Assassin’s Creed Review Comp Winner Announced | Gavin Mannion - December 19th, 2007 | A big thanks to everyone who entered the Assassin's Creed Review competition, we had some very good entries which caused some problems for my judge... which is why this is late ;) Congratulations to Dr E. Leets for his very well written (if not slightly long) Assassin's Creed review which was chosen to be the top review by our independent judge. I would also like to thank OddSock ZA for agreeing to judge the competition. If anyone is wondering I removed all personal ... [»] |

| Sneaky additions to the 2.10 Firmware update | Gavin Mannion - December 19th, 2007 | This is a strange one, you know that new firmware update that you downloaded onto your PS3 that did nothing apart from upgrade your Blu-Ray to version 1.1 and allow DivX and XviD playback? Well it seems to have had a few more things hidden inside it... They have added a planet music visualiser which looks pretty awesome, just press square when ... [»] |
