MGS4 Delayed Due to bad PS3 sales or…

 - October 31st, 2007
This is not what the Metal Gear Solid fans have been waiting to hear. Here is the sad part of the press release KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide. So have ... [»]

Hellgate London Delayed

 - October 31st, 2007
Yet another game delayed for South Africa. Hellgate: London is happily being released all over the world except for in South Africa. So why the delay? Well it seems the original delay was because EA South Africa was closing its dispatch while they did a stock take... seriously. You couldn't make that up. Now it has been delayed until the 2nd of November some time next week because of a strike in Paris? That's all fine and well but how ... [»]

Halo 3: Landfall

 - October 31st, 2007
South Africa's Neill Blomkamp previously created 3 Halo shorts which have now all been put together and show a different view of Master Chief coming to save us all.... It really is a pity that Neill was never given the green light to make an official movie. I feel his movies give a nice realism to Halo and I am sure he could have done some amazing things if he had been given the go ahead and the budget.... Either way you made us ... [»]

 - October 31st, 2007
So the 40GB PS3, which is expected to fly off the shelves, gets released to the US on the 2nd of November. So this is the last week to check sales figures before it hits... Straight to it.... HardwareWii - 144,795 (+16%)360 - 139,150 (+3%)PS3 - 43,185 (+61%) 61%.... that's impressive and remember this is before the expected surge in sales when the 40Gb model lands, has Sony finally turned the corner in the US? Well I think that may be going to far ... [»]

Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 is great

 - October 31st, 2007
Any ideas on who said the following?  I was playing the PS3 build for a few hours tonight and it is really, really fantastic. Amazingly smooth and solid. I think you PS3 users are in for a huge treat with UT3. That would be Mark Rein of Epic fame... The guy who we have all come to know as a straight talker and who doesn't hold punches when something is wrong. With his game or any other. So there are two great things in that one little quote. 1. The ... [»]

Empire online has had a chance to play Assassins Creed and has published their review of the game on there website. The review is nice and detailed and you can hear that they truly enjoyed the game but what got me was the following. CNET Reviews the sub $200 HD-DVD player

 - October 30th, 2007
So the first sub $200 HD-DVD player has hit the shelves in America and has been reviewed by CNET. $200 has always been perceived as the mass market uptake point for the US and obviously if the 200 million Americans decide to go with HD-DVD the big American studios will be right behind them. Which would pretty much end this war instantly. So is it any good? Well it received a 7/10 which generally means it's okay but what did suprise me is that it didn't offer 1080p output. How can any high definition player not offer full HD? But we all know that having the best technology or product by no means guarantees success and Toshiba may have pulled ... [»]

Halo Effect failed?

 - October 30th, 2007
Well some suprising news doing the rounds this morning, it seems like all those reports of the Xbox 360 beating the Wii in September were a little pre-mature. Now that most of the shops have handed in their exact figures we can actually see that the 360 just missed out on winning the month by 5000 units. This is a blow for Microsoft but I don't think they will lose to much sleep over it. They still ... [»]

Call of Duty 4 Review by toastedpsp

 - October 29th, 2007
This game is just looking better and better. This is yet another teaser review of the game that many people are tipping to be the true game of the year. I think on the multi-player side it is easily going to be the most popular console game in South Africa since we don't have that Halo heritage. Getting There
Ultimate Gaming Station

 - October 29th, 2007
Time for some shameless advertising. There is a new gaming magazine bundled with this months CAR magazine called UGS. Ultimate Gaming Station I was lucky enough to be involved in doing some of the write ups for the magazine, which was a first for me and quite an interesting experience. Hopefully this will become a regular publication with a lot more filling in the next issues but if you are a petrol head and can't decide which car magazine to get this month, well now you know which one to go for... If you have any original requests for the next editions please feel free to post them here or email them through to me and I will discuss them with the editor. If you just feel like flaming me about it then go ahead as well... I'll give a free Call of Duty 4 maglight to the first ... [»]
