rAge 2007 – a few impressions

 - September 29th, 2007
Thanks to the fact that LazySAGamer was tied up with another engagement today, I was able to attend a rather interesting media briefing held by AMD at the rAge expo. While the obvious benefits of attending media functions - namely, free booze, free stuff (we got copies of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) and no entrance fees - should never go unappreciated, there were a few other noteworthy elements of the media briefing.Obviously, the star ... Halo 3 is now a PS3 game. According to Incredible Connection

 - September 29th, 2007
I know the picture is not great but I am sure you can see the Halo 3 boxart at the bottom right, now look at the top in the center. PS3 Games. It seems like Incredible Connection has taken a leaf out of BlockBusters marketing guide by unilaterally giving the PS3 Halo 3. What I found even more amusing was that when you browse the Xbox 360 catalogue there is no Halo 3 available. This is either some sneaky marketing or some wishful thinking by a PlayStation fan... More than likely though it is just a slip of the fingers, still funny though :) At the time of writing Halo 3 is still a PS3 game according to the website, I wonder how long it will stay like that? Thanks to Max0991 for the tip Popular
Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid Coming to Xbox 360 – Rumour Revived

 - September 28th, 2007
So another of the constant industry rumours is back, it is being reported that the negotiations to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy to the 360 are in an advanced state.  The only thing standing in the way now is that Microsoft doesn't want its money being used to fund the PS3's development. Now I feel when a rumour like this just doesn't die down it is normally true. Think about the constant rumours ... [»]

Halo 3 ships 45 000 units in Japan in 24 hours

 - September 28th, 2007
I just don't see Japan ever following the Xbox 360's worldwide popularity. While 45 000  is a decent enough take for first day sales it really does pale in comparison to the 2.7 million that were shipped in the US. What I don't understand however is why does Microsoft keep on punting money into the Japanese market that could be better used else where? For the same amount of money they could have rolled out Live support to us and most of Eastern Europe and I am pretty sure that they shipped more than 45 000 copies in all of these territories combined. NBA 2008 is awful

 - September 28th, 2007
NBA 2008 has been reviewed by Gamespot and has come up short. Gamespot sum it up as follows. NBA 07 for the PlayStation 3 was a mess, clearly rushed out the door to make it to stores in time for the PlayStation 3's launch. SCEA has had 10 months to straighten things out for NBA 08--not a lot of time in the ... [»]

Halo 3 after launch party

 - September 28th, 2007
Well last night was the official Halo 3 post launch party which was held at the Partyhouse at the Dome in Northgate. At the same time the Parlotones also released their latest album. What an awesome evening, I actually got classed as media and was allowed to go to all the VIP areas and get free booze which was awesome :). I met a lot of the local gaming community guys and some really interesting people who work in marketing. That seems to be an awesome job, but I guess when you ... [»]

Halo 3 Breaks sales record, defends graphics and confuses the BBC

 - September 27th, 2007
Well it seems that Halo 3 has managed to take in $170 million in its first 24 hours which makes it the biggest opening day in entertainment history... not bad, but we did expect that didn't we... There have been some complaints about the graphics in Halo 3 not being next gen and Bungie has come out to defend themselves quite strongly. They say they were not going to photo realistic graphics or a true grimy world look and feel. They stuck to the vibrant and fun feeling. I think they put ... [»]

Halo 3: Legendary helmet

 - September 26th, 2007
So, I just picked up my copy of Halo 3: Legendary Edition and was totally blown away by the replica Mjolnir Mark VI helmet that's included. It's much bigger than I was expecting - check it out compared to my 17" lappie. More pics after the jump.Unless you have a really odd-shaped head, you can't wear it, unfortunately.Inside the rather large box, with the 2 DVD boxes to provide a scale reference. Smoking
Halo 3 To Push Xbox 360 Way Ahead of Wii, PS3

 - September 26th, 2007
So yet another website which believes that Halo 3 may be the final piece of the puzzle the Xbox 360 needs to win this generations console war. However this one is different since it's a site dedicated to the PS3...  The launch of Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 is upon us and it is expected that it is going to create a wave of momentum for the Xbox 360 which may allow it to pull way ahead of the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3. PS3 Center even mentions that Halo 3 may be the greatest game of the last decade, I don't know about that but it sure is moving the units quickly ... [»]

Halo 3 on its way to break sales records

 - September 26th, 2007
The first Halo 3 sales figures are coming in and it looks like it is easily going to break the $155 million  mark for first day sales. So far 1.8 million units have been shipped at an average cost of $78. In other words Microsoft and Bungie have shipped $140 million worth already and look to be on their way to having first day sales of $190 million... Halo 3 is dominating the news

 - September 25th, 2007
I am not being lazy with my reporting today I just can't find anything? The Halo 3 marketing machine has completely taken over all my news sources and seriously a lot of this stuff is really boring, well I think it is... So instead of posting a decent intellectual article (yes they happen sometimes) I am just going to drop all the links for the main Halo 3 stories...
