EGM doesn’t rate Blue Dragon either

 - July 31st, 2007
Maybe EGM just doesn't like dragons, after posting earlier about the shocking scores that EGM has given to Lair, one of my readers also posted a link to the EGM Blue Dragon scores... 6.5, 7.5 and 6.5 Marginally better than Lairs results but still shocking... According to EGM Blue Dragon has no strong characters nor a good storyline.... But apart from that it's great ;) While I am not to upset about ... [»]

EGM Lair ratings are true… ouch

 - July 31st, 2007
So the rumours started yesterday about Lair receiving terrible reviews from the EGM magazine. I didn't report on that just in case all the PS3 fanboys blasted me for reporting on rumours.. However unless the image above is a really good photoshop job then the reports about the shocking review figures are true.  It was just over a month ago when I reported about the CVG guys giving Lair some fantastic reviews so what has gone wrong in the meantime? Granted these scores are ... [»]

Wii – Escape From Bug Island Review

 - July 30th, 2007
Sometimes it is truly amazing that certain games manage to make it out of the development life cycle. Are the developers just hoping that the reviewers would not notice how absolutely shocking a game is? Check out this summary from a 1up reviewer. Bug Island fails and frustrates so thoroughly throughout its 10-plus-hour playtime that its greatest feat may be fooling someone into finishing it who isn't paid to do so. It's easily the Wii's worst showing yet So if you ... [»]

Xbox 360 price drop nearly confirmed

 - July 30th, 2007
You have all heard about it by now and the evidence for the $50 price drop is mounting...  The two images above are from Walmart and Toys R Us... GameStop branches have also been told to now offer less for Xbox 360 trade ins which could be construed to mean they know a price drop is coming.Personally I am disappointed that Microsoft hasn't gone for the kill with a $100 price drop but a price drop is always good. ... Jesuits urged to take God’s word to ‘Second Life’

 - July 30th, 2007
I read quite a disturbing article this morning about an academic names Antonio Spadaro who is urging his fellow Catholics to join the MMORPG Second Life and look for converts. Deep down, the digital world can be considered, in its way, mission territory Now I am not okay with this personally. Every single person in Second Life has a computer and access to the internet. Which means they have access to all the literature of all the religions in the world. I am not sure how many people who are escaping into Second Life want someone ringing their doorbell and trying to convert them. What happens when they start complaining about the non-Catholic way of life in Second Life and start taking their complaints to court? We could end up with another society being ruled by a religious dogma. I am not saying religious people mustn't be allowed in the game, they can build all the churches they want and have services and everything. That is fine. I have no problem with any religion at all but I do have a ... [»]

PS3 Fanboys are the worst

 - July 29th, 2007
There is nothing more annoying in the gaming world than rabid fanboys. I am not talking about the people who prefer one system over the other. I am talking about the rabid fools who troll the Internet looking for bad news about the other system and then post meaningless idiotic remarks to try and prove their point. Or the people who just cannot accept that someone might have said something bad ... [»]

The reason I always lose the shotgun battles

 - July 29th, 2007
I have always wondered how I manage to lose all the shotgun battles in Gears of War and now I have found the reason. The problem is that I keep on aiming at the other guy instead of shooting past him or running past and then shooting... It really is a weird glitch, this video was taken while playing a local system link match, so lag does not come into it. How is this possible? Getting There
Nintendo may introduce Blu-ray enabled Wii

 - July 28th, 2007
Now that is a headline I never expected to see. But could it be true. People have been expecting some sort of movie playback ability to be added to the Wii but absolutely no one would have guessed that instead of having a DVD playback facility it would be Blu-Ray. The rumour is that an unnamed source got lost in the Nintendo building and accidently walked in on some Nintendo engineers watching a Blu-Ray movie on a modified Wii. ... [»]
