| | Rumour: Final Fantasy XIII Cross Platform | Gavin Mannion - June 26th, 2007 | Well following on from the MGS 4 news a few minutes ago it has now come out that that Final Fantasy may not be PS3 exclusive either. To Quote As of now we have no change in plans. However, just because it is designed for the PS3 does not mean that it is absolutely unusable in any way whatsoever on another platform. With regard to sales, we look at timing. It’s not just about how many units are available at a certain time; influence– is also very important. So in other words if the PS3 version doesn't look like it will shift enough units we are quite happy to spread the love to whoever will pay the most. These rumours are following closely on the previous PR statements that FF is 100% PS3 exclusive, which was denied a day later.... |

| Konami “investigates” which PS3 games are possible on the Xbox360 | Gavin Mannion - June 26th, 2007 | Konami just don't know how to put a rumour to rest do they.... They have now come out and said that they are investigating which games could be moved over to the Xbox 360... I wonder which game it is that all Xbox 360 owners want? Metal Gear Solid 4 anyone? The rumour that just won't die has now been given fresh legs by Konami themselves. ... [»] |

| The E3 Killzone 2 Invite – Where is mine? | Gavin Mannion - June 26th, 2007 | So it starts... Killzone 2 invitations are arriving at the major media sites for a 2 1/2 hour E3 presentation. Well they are presumed to be Killzone invitations as they don't specifically state Killzone. Either way 2 1/2 hours is a long time, I can only presume they are going to be allowing journalists some first hand gaming time so that we don't get a repeat of the pre-rendered backlash from last time. I ... [»] |

| PS3 vs Xbox 360 vs Wii Exclusives Comparison | Gavin Mannion - June 25th, 2007 | The PlayStation universe has put together their definitive chart on exclusives coming to the 3 nexy gen consoles... They have tried to keep all the titles which are rumoured to be non-exclusives (MGS4, FF) off the list but felt the need to include Haze which is rumoured to be a timed exclusive. Anyway as you can see the Wii wins overall followed by the 360 with the PS3 bringing up the ... [»] |

| PES 2008 New Screenshots – Horrendous | Gavin Mannion - June 25th, 2007 | Over the last weekend a bunch of screenshots for PES 2008 where released to the internet. So much has been said about how the PS3's graphics are going to be much better than anything else and that PES is taking the next step up in the graphics department and wadda wadda wadda... So I chose a PS3 screenshot with the most detail ... [»] |

| Is the Xbox making real inroads in Japan now? | Gavin Mannion - June 25th, 2007 | Is the Xbox actually going to survive in Japan this round? Last week I reported on them selling triple the amount of consoles as the previous week, prior to that I reported on Trusty Bell which sold over 49 000 units and now this week the Xbox 360 has 2 titles in the list of Famitsu's Most Wanted. Granted the list is 20 titles long but this is the first time ever that the Microsoft box has 2 titles in the list. They are Lost Odyssey ... [»] |

That's right you have officially been playing video games for over 16 years today... Don't you think it's time to grow up now? Nah me neither :) Happy birthday Sonic, hopefully if you come back again it will be in a much better game than that last piece of rubbish.... |

| Xbox 360 owners reporting blank video output issue | Gavin Mannion - June 25th, 2007 | Engadget is reporting video output issues on the Xbox 360 this morning. Reports are filtering in about the screens going blank but the users can still hear what is going on. There is also one or two people complaining that the red aspect of colour is failing. Strange that this surfaces now as I was playing Gears on the weekend and my entire screen went pink for quite a while.... it corrected itself at the end of the round and I didn't think much more of it. I wonder if the Xbox 360 has a new super bug now? Link to Xbox 360 owners reporting blank video output issue - Engadget |

| Coolest Xbox 360 Mods | Gavin Mannion - June 24th, 2007 | Some kind man over at N4G.com has put together a montage of all the best Xbox 360 case mods around... Personally the Gears of War transparent one is my favourite... Not sure I would risk my 360's warranty doing that though? |

| Home – The Next Big Thing or The Last Big Lie | Gavin Mannion - June 22nd, 2007 | Gameplayer.com.au has a very nice article explaining why there has been such a media backlash against Sony in this generation and how if they don't deliver on Home it may be the last straw for many. However it is by far all doom and gloom, if Sony deliver on Home and by all counts we have no reason to expect them not to then this may be the application that cattapults them back ... [»] |

| Fifa 08 vs PES 2008 | Gavin Mannion - June 22nd, 2007 | The latest PS3Zine is out and they have a very nice article about the PS3 versions of Fifa and PES. PES just manages to squeak it in the end but there is quite a bit of rumbling about how it is not moving forwards quick enough and is starting to live up to it's Evolution moniker. FIFA still wins the graphics side hands down and is very close in the game play ability as well.... If you are a rabid fan of either series ... [»] |

| Xbox making progress in Japan? | Gavin Mannion - June 22nd, 2007 | So the weekly hardware sales are out and there is only one big mover from last week. Wii - 65,521 PlayStation 2 - 11,974 PLAYSTATION 3 - 9,481 Xbox 360 - 7,583 So they all stay in the same position but the Xbox 360 has jumped from just over 2k to 7.5k... All of that can be put down to Trusty Bell which sold over 49k last week in Japan. I guess every single Xbox 360 owner bought a copy then... In relation the Wii ... [»] |

| PS3 "Already Making Comeback" | Gavin Mannion - June 22nd, 2007 | Howard Stringer, Sony Chairman, has been telling the Sony shareholders today that the PS3 is already making a comeback. Now that they have solved the production problems that is... Personally I remember the PS3 problems being lack of games and an exceptionally high price. Not production problems. To add some weight to his claims however it was announced today that over 380 games are planned for this fiscal year for the PS3. That would include 200 retail games and 180 downloadable games before March 2008. ... [»] |

| Massive Failure Rate For Xbox 360 Exposed | Gavin Mannion - June 22nd, 2007 | An Australian website called Smarthouse has written an article detailing it's findings into the Xbox 360's failure rate. Microsoft has always claimed that the failure rate falls within the 3-5% industry norm, Yet no one has ever believed them. Smarthouse is claiming that the failure rate is actually around 30% which does fit in well with all the other surveys and articles written about this... What I really don't understand is why don't Microsoft ... [»] |
