Pain was one of the games coming out on the PSN that I was really looking forward to... However I watched the above trailer today and as much as it still looks like a lot of fun, it leaves me wondering how long could this game really keep my interest for? Watching the video for the third time while I am writing this and it just really seems boring... this is not a nice way to end a week. I was really excited about this game :(
Max someone or other.. Well done Max wear it with pride... What you are not sure why Max is getting a noddy badge? Well yesterday I posted an article about an upcoming PS3 exclusive "Record of Agarest War" with a completely unrelated image. I couldn't find a single image to go with the article. I promised a Noddy Badge for the first person to find the image and Max pulled through... We think :) Since I have no idea what the game looks like and the entire image is covered in Japanese writing it could be completely wrong. But it's not serious you get an A+ for effort either way... Well that Resistance patch and update that was supposed to arrive in the beginning of June is finally here... nearly. Sony has announced that it will hit the PSN network today. The update will include new multiplayer maps, some game tweaks and the turning on of the global servers. In Sony's words... Launch silent sniper attacks across the snowy slopes of Westmorland, taking cover in the shadow of Chimeran architecture, or go below ground with all guns blazing to save autumnal Camborn from the plague of inhuman invaders. Notice they are talking about Chimeran architecture and not some Anglican Church in Manchester ;) Link to Resistance Falls Onto Sony's PlayStation Network - News at SPOnG.com
Oh no, it looks like the shipped/sold bug is catchy... Codemasters the guys who made DiRT originally claimed that they sold 500 000 units in it's release week... However after a bit of research it seems that VG Chartz president Brett Walton has revealed that they actually shipped 500 000 units and ... [»]
Over at the PS3Forums.com Aquanox has posted a couple of screenshots of "The Darkness" on Xbox 360 and PS3... Apart from none of the screenshots being taken at the same time and the top one just being a black screen(?) they look pretty identical to me. According to the original IGN reviewer "You're gonna get several more jaggies in the Playstation 3 version especially when you bring up your "Darkness Powers". There are tons of jaggies in walls, in character models and enviromental pieces. In the Xbox 360 version there are some jaggies but not nearly as many as in the Playstation 3." and "One difference is that, in the Playstation 3 version, the TVs will show different clips that don't have anything to do with the ... The latest Japanese gaming sales are in and it looks like we have a very solid pattern now... The Wii kills everything coming in at 65,582 units in the previous week. The PS3 once again fails to break the 10k mark with 9,581 and the Xbox 360 is stone last at 3,369. The 360 is the biggest dropper of the week since every 360 owner in Japan now has a copy of Trusty Bell which boosted sales last week.... Link to N4G.com : Japanese ... [»]
More stories about the Xbox 360's reliability problems are coming out. This time it seems like Forza 2 is the culprit. According to a thread on ... [»]
Following on from Microsoft XNA suite Nintendo has announced that they are launching WiiWare in the beginning of next year. With WiiWare your smaller developers with smaller budgets are going to be given the opportunity to create games for the Wii that can then be sold through the Wii Shop... I think this and XNA are fantastic additions to this generations war and in a couple of years time we are going to start really seeing some great ideas coming through. Now we just need Sony to come to the party as well. Source: MyAdsl.co.za
The lucky guys over at CVG have been given the opportunity of playing the first 6 levels of Lair.... I don't think they managed to get a bad word out about this game. The graphics are superb, the levels are massive and detailed. The gameplay is top notch.. All in all it looks like Lair may end up living up to it's initial promise... To be honest this is the one game where that SIXAXIS may truly be a lot of fun.... But don't ... [»]
PS3 fans have some reason to celebrate today as another PS3 exclusive has been announced. Record of Agarest War is a fantasy RPG that takes place over five generations. As like most Japanese RPG's the battle system uses a square grid system and is turn based... Since I have already admitted my dislike of Japanese RPG's and especially turn based gaming I can safely say this news does not interest me in the least.... But for the millions of JRPG fans out there look out for this game being released in Japan on the 27th of September 2007... not long now. *The image has nothing to do with the article. But it looks good anyway. A noddy badge to the first person who can find ... [»]
More stories are coming out about the upcoming PS3 rumble controllers... and it looks really awesome. Not only will the new controller rumble it will also have "Touchsense".... Basically this gives the developers much more control over the rumble and can therefore accurately portay the low vibrations of a dirt road or the sharp kick of a rifle shot.... What is also going to be a huge bonus is that adding these motors is going to increase the weight of the SIXAXIS... Something that will be well welcomed by anyone over 10 I think... Check the link for all the information. Link to Gamers-Creed » Blog Archive » Sixaxis Shock Details Unveiled ?
The latest firmware update for the PS3 is coming soon. Version 1.82 is going to give PS3 owners the ability to playback AVC High Profile (H.264/MPEG-4) files... That seems to be it... Now since I don't know what a H.264 file is maybe I am on the wrong track here but it seems a bit strange to release a new update for one type of video file... It just makes things confusing, can a 1.81 version play online against a 1.82 version? Does it force you to update? Why not just pile them all together a do a quarterly update instead? It would seem to make more sense really. Link to News: PS3 Firmware 1.82 coming soon - ComputerAndVideoGames.com
The Home Beta has been updated with quite a decent sized update. The update consists mainly of graphical updates which has added a few more character customisations and improved some of the arcade games... However the best thing it has done is allow access to your friends list from anywhere inside Home. Unfortunately the rumoured Chess and new arcade machines didn't arrive but this is a Beta remember. Possibly the most boring part of the update is the fact that your character now has the ability ... [»]
Following on from yesterdays rumour of Final Fantasy going cross platform Square Enix has confirmed today that no games will hit the PS3 until the next Fiscal year. This would be After April 2008, though once you add in development time for the extra languages and localisation we could easily be looking at 2009 before a PAL version is released.I saw yesterday one of our local PS3 stalwarts finally getting himself a Xbox ... Well this came out of nowhere, it has not been long since the Red Pack was available through Live and now today Major Nelson is posting about the Black Pack... It includes 5 new maps Red Lotus, Wartown, Streets (redone) and Presidio (From Raindow 3).. Yes I realise that makes 4 but counting is obviously not Major Nelson's strongpoint :) It weighs in at a ... [»]
