Toshiba in partnership with Amazon.com is running a promo on one of it's HD DVD players. If you lived in the US you could pick one up for the rock bottom price of $238. Amazon.com has added its own discount to the mix, offering the player at the bottom-line price of $238. It looks like the UK guys are getting Xbox TV and an old anime show (Guyver) is jumping the release date and will be available for viewing from Monday... Microsoft announced that they had tightened the region restrictions in the last Spring update and I wonder if we will be able to download any of these movies or series which are about to be released in the UK? Not being the biggest Anime fan around I could happily give this one a skip but I know a lot of you love your Anime so are you going to try and download this one? The original rumour was that Sony allowed the PS3 to have linux installed on it to get around custom laws in Europe. You see it's now a PC and not subjected to tax. It all seemed like a clever idea at the time but could this actually end up costing Sony more than they originally expected? A German company called Helios thinks so. It just released a customized PS3 version of Linux that is powerful enough to run the Helios UB enterprise server, formerly reserved for the likes of the IBM Blade Server and Xserve. It achieved this feat using a stripped-down version of Yellow Dog Linux that provides extremely low overhead while still offering things like Java 1.5 and enhanced AppleTalk. (Source) So you can now ... [»]
So CB Games is reporting on the fact that the Wii will most probably overtake the 360 in sales this year which is an amazing feat if you think about it. They go on to say that this generation may belong to the casual gamers and insinuate that it is a bad thing... One thing people do miss out on though is the attachment rate. The number of games 'attached' to each console. The Wii is selling fantastically and I cannot wait to get one as ... [»]
The much awaited Resistance DLC is going to be available world wide next week on the 7th of June. This has been delayed slightly from the expected end of May release and Sony graciously answered why... The reason for the delay is we (SCEA) needed a little extra time to get the global servers locked in and ready for thousands of players ... [»]
So after rumours recently about Ubisoft saying they are not happy with the sales of the PS3 so far, Ubisoft have come out and clarified there position. Sony should recalculate the price of the ps3, as should Microsoft with the Xbox360, Ubisoft is not satisfied with the sales of both consoles Umm so I guess that means they are not happy with either of the consoles then, seems like a bit of a PR patch up to me but hey maybe Ubisoft are just ... I found an article today talking about some new firmware replacement for the 360 that will still get you on Live. Now I am not a fan of modding at all but I had to reproduce this link just for the following line. (v1.0) Defeats all current and some future Xbox Live detection attempts Not only does this hack allow ... [»]
So the creative VP of Rockstar has come out and said that the 360 has created 'limitations' on what it could do when developing GTA.... Basically it boils down to the Core model and no Blu-Ray or HD-DVD built in. Now I completely agree with him on the Core model, I cannot believe Microsoft ever released a model without a Harddrive but we ... [»]
The Official Xbox magazine website has a great article on how to convince a Xbox sceptic to pick one up in 30 minutes using 5 games... So what games did they choose to show of the power of the Xbox? 1. PES 6 - You have to be kidding? Bad graphics and no advantage over the PS2 version. 2. Crackdown - The ... [»]

So the Sony Protection Group is at it again... They have posted a thoroughly unbiased :) article asking why people are buying HD-DVD instead of Blu-Ray... So, to answer the question of “Why are some people still buying HD DVD?â€, it’s due to consumers being misinformed and sheer ignorance. It is quite funny that a site which has been setup to protect Sony has the audacity to call anyone ignorant. From what I have heard the ... [»]
